Why we ride

Are you suggesting we start a Dating Forum on imtbtrails? Well we certainly could not call it  eHarmony! Everyone would be up in arms thinking... oh nevermind!

Sorry ladies, I’m taken.

I ride because it’s my drug, my therapy(burn off the crazy:whistling:), my playtime, and my escape from the real world, fitness is just a cool side effect for me. Riding makes me stronger, but also reveals my weaknesses. When I’m solo I work through a lot of crap in my head, when I’m with other riders its fun to chat, share, cut up and even compete a little:rolleyes:. Mtn biking can be very empowering and extremely humbling at times. I wouldn’t be who I am without it :inlove::inlove::inlove:
Have I mentioned that I LOVE to mtn bike and I love imbtrails?! :D thanks @Mikie

That looks just like the "roots" section of the FLoop!!! o_O

Dating in LA is such a clusterfuck. Its like fishing off a dock with nothing but carp around. Loads if bites wanting a free meal, but nothing worth taking home.
eharmony.

It worked for one of my best friends. He found, dated, and married a great gal.

If you just want a "quickie", I think there are personal ads in Craigslist you can research.

Does this fall into "Why we ride"?

^^^^ this is pretty much spot on! :)

+3 more on all that. Winner winner chicken dinner. 28 wonderful years total. ( Did I say wonderful? ) 34 years for a super total if you want to count dating years in there as well.;)
@Luis already brought us to 28! And I am there too. 29 on July 29!

And here here here's to @Danimal signing some papers and exchanging some vows next weekend!

However, none of this is why we ride, so back at it kids!

Sure it is. My wife doesn't ride but she encourages/indulges me. If I get lazy she says "aren't you riding today?". She also lets me spend bike money.
Thanks honey, for almost 38 years. I'm a lucky man.:)

yeah I love that my wife is encouraging my rides.. she knows its good for me physically and mentally.. but last few weeks, she and the doctor and the acupuncturist all sound the same.. REST..
So here was my history.. elbow pain for at least 6 months.. but ignored it. Rode and kept riding.. 2 to 4x a week... then had a great 4daysin a row of riding up in Santa cruz.. really feeling the elbow..

then my daughter said, "Daddy, can you play tennis with me?"
Tennis? Since when you started playing tennis?
"Ok, cutie."
Bam, Wham, she's actually hits the thing back and forth! Hour later, my elbow is really toast...

Waiting on XRays results now...
no riding for 3 weeks!!!! took up running...

The doctor states you have what is commonly known as tennis elbow.

I started riding because I was told that I had high Cholesterol and was at risk of having a heart attack. I was also told that I needed to change my diet and doctor recommended that I start exercising. I started by taking short walks with the wife at Laguna Lake Park and I would always see guys riding their bikes. So I thought to myself, I should get a bike. So then I started looking at bikes at Target and Walmart with my wife but they looked so cheap to me. I started with a budget of $300 but then started going to a few local bike shops and saw how much bike were  . So I decided to save up more money to get a decent hardtail. I started looking online to see what I could get for a few hundred dollars more. I ended up saving $850 dollars and told my wife I was going to buy a bike. She said are you crazy!! That's a lot of money to spend on a bike!!! So somehow I convinced her that it would be a great investment for my health. I ended up buying a Cannondale trail at the Cyclery in La Mirada. Steve the shop owner told me you should ride the Fullerton Loop, it's a great beginners trail, so I said ok and googled it when I got home. That's when I found STR and saw that they had a group that rode on Sunday mornings, so I joined them!

I am a really thin guy but none of you would have ever guessed that I had high cholesterol. I am glad that I got a bike and started riding. It makes me feel so much more happier and energetic. I have made some awesome friends and plan on making more! I love being outdoors and love the peacefulness of being out in nature. It really is a stress reliever also!

YESSSS! Awesomeness!

“The Floop” “The Floop” “The Floop” I keep hearing about this F word...I’ve gotta try it!
It's mostly tongue in cheek. For example - there is no roots section as pictured with the double-thumbs-up-crashing-guy. It's a semi-urban series of dirt paths interrupted by suburban streets. It serves its local inhabitants well for getting in a ride without traveling. DO NOT actually drive down to Fullerton to ride it.

(Full disclosure - I've never ridden it.)
