Who's Riding Where???

Yeah... Those 30-35% grades in spots seem flat and easy on the brakes. But... I'm sure it can't compare to "Critters".
Joplin doesn’t seem very steep to me since I can ride it with the Rumblefish. I would hesitate taking the Rumblefish down MM, and now I’m even scared to take the 26er Trek Slash anywhere like that because I became dependent on the aggressive squiggle bug with the knobbie rear tire and Magura MT7s. The only other bike I have ridden down Joplin was the Giant AC2 with 20-yr-old geometry. My take away, albeit riding safe both times, is that Joplin is a wild and rugged trail, but steep was not a characteristic I recall.

Thursday evening is another Crazy Bear shop ride departing at 6:30pm. I think I'm going to show up with the 'Cuda A2R circa 1994 because my last three rides have been on three different bikes, and I'm running out of options to continue the trend.

None of that metric crap. 128 oz is equal to 10 2/3 standard beers (at 12 oz each). If one cannot do math, one may stick to metric. For those of us who can think, fluid ounces rule. :geek:

Liters and decaliters are just stupid.
Metric makes more sense for length and distance than for volume.

Great - so see you at the trailhead at 9:00!

Warning - my friend Gene is notoriously late, and the pace will be mind-numbingly slow (due to me, not Gene).

EDIT: I was correct in one way and wrong in two others. Gene was not late. The pace was mind-numbingly slow, but NOT due to me. Due to Gene's quad cramps for 2nd half of the ride.
