Who's Riding Where???

Anyone up for some San Gabes action tomorrow? I'd like to get at least 20 miles, up to around 30 depending on the route, and start reasonably early (by 7:00).
Thinking about starting at/near Windsor, climbing Lower Merrill and Sunset Rd., and going all the way up to Wilson. From there I'm considering descending the Gabrelino from Red Box all the way back to Windsor, or down Middle Merrill to Sunset. I might skip Wilson if I descend Gabrelino because I can get water at Red Box.
Any takers?

I’m in if you can roll at midnight.

I just got back from that route!

Sunday - I'll be looking for something in the 25-35 mile range, 3000-5000'+. Temps are going to be good just about everywhere. What's going up & down?
Lookit this guy…a new rig and a little bit of squiggly, and he’s having to tap the brakes to avoid hitting the guy ahead of him.

A handful of suitable HOoLiGaNs come to mind, and I’m curious to see who you get Redwoods.

Uh, that would be a LOT of squiggly.

But more to the point, I think the guy in front of me is who I used to could have been, and I'll never catch him. The guy catching up to me is who I'm eventually never gonna be, and he is inevitable. So THIS guy is trying to get while the gettin's good, preferably with company.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This is brilliant, and I’d still card you at a bar!

Speaking of, how is the healing progressing?
Thanks for giving me another opportunity to post in this thread, Matt. :geek: This one is going to take longer than your (my) average ankle roll, cuz I twisted it outward first then stretched it laterally. Great progress nonetheless, with normal-ish walking indoors, little discomfort.

Most painful was the last nail in the coffin of my agenda here this year. Fires, smoke, heat and closures…the sprain capped it off. I’m not complaining. I still feel grateful and humbled, and I’m psyched looking forward. :)

I've been debating where to ride this weekend. I'll probably do something quick and short later today, and then something a little larger tomorrow. Unexpected company changed my initial plans.

Maybe up the Toll Road and down the Gabrielino? Or the P-Line climb of Lower Sam and the Mount Lowe Road and then down the Gab? Both are good routes; one just hurts more going up. :D

I'd like to join you - really good payoff for that climbing. So what location and time are you starting? I know I'm not as fast as you on the ups, so if you'd like I can get started earlier.

I usually start from home. When @SnakeCharmer joins, he starts from JPL and pedals over to Lower Sam. We meet at the base of the single track climb. He does that to avoid the 1st mile of pavement from my garage... It's steep.

I don't care about the pace...

Either meet at my house around 7:00 or Lower Sam around 7:30?
