Who's Riding Where???

I'm happy to be posting here legitimately. Also over being sandbagged by the guy with the new knees...

Great news...my old fukked up ankle has now surpassed my new fukked up ankle in discomfort and disability!!!:unsure: I'm good for a lap on the bike path. Probably with the geared bike.

Bike ride tomorrow around Newport Back Bay with my drinking club!

Rocky peak. Would appreciate any intel anybody has , recommendations etc!
If you want a little more mileage than the route I PM'd earlier, up Las Llajas, down Johnsons, back up Devil's Canyon, and down Chumash is a good one. I think 20ish miles. All the steep climbs of the original route I gave you, with a bit more for good measure. The navigation between the bottom of Johnson's and the start of Devil's Canyon can be a little tricky if you're not following a GPX.

It's holiday season. My employer, for some unknown reason, decided Election Day was a great candidate for a holiday. So I have Tuesday, November 2, as a day off. There are other days I'd prefer, but that's a battle for the future.

Anyone have suggestions for a Tuesday assault? I'm not driving through Los Angeles on a weekday morning :gag::eek::eek::gag::gag:. Ain't gonna happen, because it's a pointless endeavor unless - oh, wait, I can get there at zero-dark-thirty and be halfway up the mountain by daylight!! :Roflmao:Roflmao:Roflmao.

Prolly end up doing something in the Santa Anas unless someone offers a juicy morsel alternative.

Loch Leven SART loop
https://strava.app.link/270p1sOrOkb If that's biting off too much, rid up Loch Leven and do the post office loop which is a lot easier. Or just write up Loch Leven to the store and grab a Mexican Coke at the top... Basically go ride around Angelus Oaks... Gorgeous up there right now and the weather will be perfect!

If that seems a little bit too much for a solo ride, do exploration trail. If you're pressed for time take the road up, if you have a little bit of breathing room go up the trail to the end!

I live in Anaheim, adjacent to Knott's Berry Farm. We're talking about a weekday, with traffic back to pre-Covid levels.

I enjoyed SART, but no. Not on a Tuesday. :gag:

I hope you found a good target, and you are not reading this until afternoon. Don't forget that Main Divide in Santa Anas is open. :)

Good thing about the snow level down to 7000'? It makes picking a ride easier. The only thing guaranteed snow-free from here is the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway. I never imagined avoiding crowds on that route – I rarely even see one bike on it. Sunday was an eye opener. Hookie Friday??? :geek:

In spite of the Brandon gas prices, I am planning to drive up and ride Exploration Trail Saturday morning. I am going to ride Exploration twice ... or just once and then drive over to Skyline in Big Bear and do a bit of that. I have not decided for sure. If anyone wants to join let me know. It will be early (8ish start), because I cannot deal with weekend traffic in both directions ... and the drive home is always crap.

I realized I have not been up there in more than a year, and Exploration is one of my favorite trails. Weather looks good.
