I'll be in Big Bear Saturday to visit family and get a good look at the eagles nest in the backyard. While my better half does a ebike Ride around the lake I was going to do an abbreviated version of skyline.

Is anyone is going to be there this Saturday? Interested in a shortish ( 3 hr?) ride?

I’m wide open at 12:05am Sunday. Alternatively, there is a slight possibility I can ride at 4pm Sunday for a few hours locally (Marshall Canyon, Monroe Truck Trail, or Barrett Stoddard Shuttle).

It looks a lot like 1am, 3am, 4am and even 5am....after that it starts looking like noon.

Air quality still 100+ up here. Not awful but I wouldn't ride hard in it.

I try to hit everything out the door, it's ~12 miles uphill to the goods. But...shuttling sounds like a great way to get some cheap thrills and cut out the majority of particulate intake. It could set a dangerous precedent with the wife, but that's a risk I'll have to take.

I'm planning to be where none of you want to be at about 5 am tomorrow. I should be home before noon, drive time and all. And I'll enjoy it.

Despite the closure, there are trails in N Tahoe to ride. The Donner Lake Rim trails (Truckee Donner Land Trust) and Perimeter trails are open. I've been hitting em late, after the wind direction goes east and the air cleans up. That's the plan today...
