Who's Riding Where???

I'm down in San Clemente for the next two weeks, and will be riding the SCSTs probably every day if things work out according to plan.
Hoping to take the boy out to do Whiting/Luge, Maple/Main/Motor, and maybe LCWP.
Tour guides and co-conspirators sought!
Hah! You arrive in my 'hood, and I take off for the east coast. Have fun out there. I understand the YT Mob have built some serious features out at SCST, so you can practice your gap jumps!

No Aliso while you are here?

Not in the stars!

I haven't been out to SCST since last summer, so will be interesting to see the difference. There was a lot of building going up behind the dog park then, but I didn't go investigate. Aliso/Laguno on the maybe list... so far away! If I'm going to drive that far, might as well do the Floop!!!

San Juan trail is right there as well. I'd hit that before any of the three you mentioned.
Tell me more... I don't know much/anything about it. https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7020274/old-san-juan-trail

Hole in the Ground is one of my favorites.
Happy scoping... Tahoe OG
Thanks, pal. Been wanting to check out Warren Lake Trail – any intel? That cirque looks impressive on the map, but also like snow could be present on those slopes.

I'm leery of snow on Warren Lake Trail. New plan: Get a lift to Tahoe City in AM and ride the lower-elevation trails back up to Martis then down the north side. Option to take West Martis Creek Trail to west Truckee. Looks like 30+ miles with a good amount of climbing and unknown surface conditions.

Midweek Marauders, get it dunn!!!!!!!!!

I can show you around Aliso and/or LCWP tomorrow (Wed) morning if you'd like. I'd park at the Ranger Station off Alicia and Awma rd by the LDS. This is probably 20 minutes from SC depending on where you are. Start 8ish or could go earlier, it's starting to warm up. I'd suggest San Juan trail but I think it'll be hot (I guess you're used to that tho?)

Looks interesting, those trails must have been added fairly recently. If you switch to satellite view and zoom in the imagery is from early season or heavy snow year and covers much of the trail. Imagery from higher up shows minimal coverage. Maybe the higher Basin Peak Trail will be clear given its west-facing aspect? Interested to see what you find. TF lists these as hiking-primary, which can be good or bad.

Have you ridden Grouse Ridge over near Emigrant Gap? It's not too far away from you and would be well worth a day trip.

I'll probably die from not being on a bike for two weeks, but sounds good!!! I'll confirm further on, after I ride this morning!
