J-Zilla
For the adventurous.....SJT @ night is incredible.
Yea I went to that once and reunited with @Varaxis Dan and PoolJ-ames. That's the ride with the doods pulling manuals and wheelies crossing Allesandro (and almost getting killed by an asshat motorist), dropping BFR, mobilizing for the jumplines, sessioning fo'shizzle x3, and all-in-all cruising around and having a great time.A group meets every Thursday at 6:15 PM at the Farmer Boys on Alessandro in Riverside for a couple hour ride at Sycamore Canyon (that Sycamore, since I know of three in SoCal).
Not a hammer fest, check your ego. Ride is about enjoying the dirt, and progressing. All levels are welcome. Usually 10-15 miles, 100'/mile. Route is chosen on the fly based on the mood of the group. Dinner after the ride.

It’s almost the weekend! What’s the good word for the happenings after hours?
@kazlx , how are you mending up?
I'm glad to hear you have turned the corner, so to speak. You pop into my head occasionally, including in the wee hours of last Sunday morning...it went something like, "kazlx says don't be a knucklehead!!" Are you still retired from MTB or just on the long-term injured reserve list?I'm pretty good man. Thanks for asking. First couple months kinda sucked, but everything got better. I finally got out of the collar last week. I have a little less mobility in my neck, but nothing that's a huge hinderance, mainly extremes on left and right and up down. But overall, for the damage, I couldn't be happier. I'm thankful to still be able to walk and be 'normal', hug my wife and kids and get back on with life.
Side note, I have a glo worm light setup I will probably sell if anyone is interested.

I so wish it could be yes. My time in SoCal is about spent with this being my last weekend here.Right on @kazlx . One day at a time, and we’re here to provide you some MTB-related content and other nonsense to pass the time if you need it.
Alright pendejos! No one wants to ride the graveyard shift this weekend? I wasn’t that bad last weekend, was I Faustie/Zilla/Luis? Sure I never took the lead out there, but that’s because I’m not at all competitive.
@mike, what are your plans Saturday night? I can come to OC for something in the Santa Ana Range if you wanna howl at the moon with me.

Let me know when you are ready Faustie!Last Saturday was epic! When I can fully see out of my left eye, I’ll be ready for another nighttime excursion.

Ah Sh!t! Now I'm a little bit puckered.I should add that Ken Burton is not a beginner trail… Although it’s pretty low tech, with the exception of a few of the switchbacks, it is extremely exposed and narrow. I haven’t been down it in a month, but there were a few sections that were crumbling, and they are only a foot wide to begin with…
This is the only trail up here where the exposure gets to me a little bit… It’s probably the reason it only gets a fraction of the traffic of El Prieto.

It's ok everyone! Don't let this discourage you from coming out. You wouldn't even notice the exposure (except for Faustie bringing it up ). At night, all you see is what's in front of your lights, and the exposure tends to remain black when you shine a light into the space.
Well if it’s just us, you’re going in front! You don't count. For the regular night crew, it's not an issue... Just stay on the trail.
I only brought it up so that anyone who hasn't done it before knows what he or she is getting into... It's a skinny trail with 23 switchbacks. I don't think it would be great as an introduction to night riding.
@Faust29 , lemme know if you wanna see Marshall Canyon and adjacent environs tonight or tomorrow night.
Next weekend likely wont work for me. Next time.Shoot... My weekend rides are already planned. Short solo tomorrow and group ride on Sunday... daylight hours.
I was going to see if you wanted to do something (front range up and down?) maybe next weekend as a welcome back to the forest.
I can meet you at your place for any route in your imagination. I can climb all night! Make me cramp! Make me puke! Make me your bitch! Is sleeping an acceptable answer?
Let’s see if anyone else jumps in… And what route are you thinking? I’d vote for anything that starts at my garage.
