Where my night riders at?

Bruh. I work for Anaheim at City Hall right at Lincoln/Anaheim Blvd. I'm off at 5 though.

I'm definitely open to whatever. I'm off at 5 but could occasionally make semi-earlier rides. I'm going to start looking around for a bit better lighting setup. I'd probably like to have bars and helmet. I have been on a couple rides where my rinky dink rig didn't really cut it. They are old and work ok but I would like to start making it routine and I know there's trails these won't work all that great. Plus, it would be nice to have them as extras to invite some friends out to get them hooked.

Nice. I'm on La Palma just west of Anaheim and right before the train tracks.

Checkout MagicShine for the bar mounted lights. That's what I am running. Much cheaper than the Big Brands and works just as well. I have a Lumina 900 for the helmet mount.

Let's Ride!!!!

You are already familiar with STT/Luge....add in the climb to Cadillac or Old Camp(you can't get lost).

Blackstar to Beeks....same thing, follow the stream of lights. Can't get lost out there, it's a fire road out and back.

The other rides(BS/MW, MS/MW, Harding) are longer rides....and this usually take more time than most people are willing to do after work.

@Faust29 is right.....rides were regularly posted up, and it was the exception when we'd get another rider to join. We really didn't miss many night rides last winter, even with the rain, cold, snow, ice, freezing.

My Thursday Night Social is open to anyone, but we are prompt. If we say 5:00 roll time, we roll at 5:00. I just need a heads up if you are gonna make it. It's social, but we keep moving. It's not ride 10 mins, stop, shoot the Sh!t for 10 mins, ride, rinse and repeat. However we generally don't hammerfest it either. We start at the Tree Farm.

Once I’m healthy again I am going to join you guys (at least to Beeks/Ball). Do you typically start at 5pm? I am often done with work by 2pm and am habitually early to everything in life.

Kids are old enough now that I can pencil in a night for myself and not get the wrath from my better half.

That'd be awesome.

We do normally roll at 5:00. Sometimes we may get out a little earlier if not all the normal attendees make it, but that is the exception.

Thursday are always just to the gate....every once in a while we may get a wild hare and go to the ball.

Joe, I'm also in Tustin. You're welcome to try my lights if you'd like. The bar light is simple with bar mount, 7 modes up to 4000 lumens, no external battery pack, just a tube flashlight (with 3 LEDs) with one battery (can bring spare to swap). The helmet light (smaller tube flashlight single LED) is not as simple... it's velcro'd to my helmet, rock solid and pointed just right for me. May not work as well on your helmet. I've done Limestone Canyon ride many times and unless I'm in the lead (of the slower pack) or solo because I got dropped, I rarely used max brightness except on the descents which go by too fast. I've never had to swap batteries.

I might take you up on that. You have the magic shine?

I have custom-ordered built flashlights made typically to be mounted on hunting rifles. Except for the light's outer shell, everything inside is custom made: circuit board, solid copper heat sink, springs, latest LEDs (at the time), chosen tint... tested lumens, not "ebay lumens" with high discharge batteries. I've shaked n baked several flashlights on the trails, some lasted barely 50 yds before it went dark. None of the built ones (10 or so) have had any issues so far.

I wanted to see Limestone Canyon at night, so had a light built to throw a hotspot for 1000 yards but it's a pretty narrow beam so it was a bit disappointing...

If you want to built some, I have a full machine shop

I've had fun fabbing simple car stuff before, like seat mounts/brackets... but that's about my limit. Would love to learn how stuff is done for fun though.

The last time I needed access to a machine shop for a 5-10 ton hydraulic press to press out the ball joints on the control arms.
It's easy and fun when you have the right tools, hammering is no fun...

Uhhh... can you elaborate on the “I have a full machine shop” part? Asking for a friend.

off topic haha but...in the garage.

I have been riding solo on Wednesday nights in Bako, I just ordered the a Niterider Lumina 1800 light for my bar and can’t wait to see how bright it is compared to my current 750. I also use a 700 for the helmet. I also have a pro 1200 that doesn’t get used much.

STT up past Cadillac and back down Luge was my first ride with you Jason and my first night MTB Ride. Haha. Both parts of that ride were great. Although the pace up little mustard killed me with @Faust29 pushing me.
Hope to be back riding with you guys soon. Looking forward to some frozen Maple Springs runs too.
