It’s no hypothesis. I get in that state several times a year.It is a hypothetical state of mind where you have enough money saved, and start focusing on spending it (vs. working to make more).

Booked Flights for July 7th to South Dakota. Cathy and I are flying out there for a week to check out the Black Hills in the very South West Corner near Rapid City.so I have been thinking about being transient and living in multiple states when I retire. The good ones have no income tax, the others will not even hardly know I am there except to send a property tax bill to someplace like NV, Wa, or Tx
Who needs smog checks? Maybe a dome can be built over South Dakota.Booked Flights for July 7th to South Dakota. Cathy and I are flying out there for a week to check out the Black Hills in the very South West Corner near Rapid City.
South Dakota is rated #2 for retirement.

South Dakota is open carry and you can also obtain a CCW valid and renewable every 5 years. A Regular permit for $10 bucks, Gold Card for $70 bucks covers an additional 37 states, and there is an Enhanced Permit available for $100 bucks. All other permits from other states are accepted in South Dakota.

We get to be grown ups in South Dakota...No Smog checks, but there are tax reductions and incentives for driving and maintaining Eco friendly vehicles.
Seattle!
Let's be careful not to plunge in to any political stuff..View attachment 66225
I hear this place is like the OC fair minus the rides and animals. Too bad my kind isn't allowed there.
I'm guessing it's because being stuck in traffic in South Dakota is being behind a tractor, and <20 carsWe get to be grown ups in South Dakota...

Yeah...I'm guessing it's because bring stuck in traffic in South Dakota is being behind a tractor, and <20 cars
CenCal coast being the closest and most obvious, but I know that's already in your sights. Asheville, NC would be a very worthy contender if you're willing to move across the country.Anywhere where there is less people, more quiet, less car thefts, more trails, 4 not too extreme seasons, and good fishing.
Can anyone make a suggestion?
If crime is a big factor for you, OC is as good as anywhere. much of rural America is one big opioid-induced property crime spree. Every place I consider, I look up the crime data and say “nope.”CenCal coast being the closest and most obvious, but I know that's already in your sights. Seems like it's in bad faith considering the rules you want everyone to play by.We get to be grown ups in South Dakota...

Not following you. I'm talking about Smog. What are you talking about?Seems like it's in bad faith considering the rules you want everyone to play by.
BS, but whatever, it's your forum. Not following you. I'm talking about Smog. What are you talking about?
I'm going by evidence that precedes me. I like what I see.
Well you got the second part correct, Brett.BS, but whatever, it's your forum.
The humidity on the east Coast would kill me dead in one month.CenCal coast being the closest and most obvious, but I know that's already in your sights. Asheville, NC would be a very worthy contender if you're willing to move across the country.
Yes! State boundaries matter less.Anywhere where there is less people, more quiet, less car thefts, more trails, 4 not too extreme seasons, and good fishing.
Ha hah! I have never ridden in Colorado (other than from Fruita heading into Utah) and thinking that is a felony to miss out on the Colorado goods. I doubt that Boulderites will trek up my way to ride the Black Hills trails when they have MTB heaven right in their backyard. Be awesome to putt down there and get me some of that!Yes! State boundaries matter less.
@Mikie... When one has to brag that Boulder is 6 hours away, something is very wrong. Your best hope is that it's too far for Boulderites to visit your town. And, the evils you know are better than the ones you don't.
Oh, maybe vehicle smog doesn't contribute to air pollution. We get to be grown ups in South Dakota...
