The Post Your Ride Here... NO DERAILMENT Thread

Headed up next weekend to shuttle/ride the Cannell Plunge with MRA. They had 8 spots left for Saturday, June 2nd if anybody is interested. We are staying and doing Just Outstanding on Sunday before heading back to San Diego. Predicted weather is 88 on Saturday in Kernville so 60’s up top.

Edited - just learned Aliso is closed due to the fire.

NEW ride:
  • Moro/Crystal Cove, tomorrow (6/8/18), starting some time around 11-12 (somewhat flexible - we'll talk).
  • I'm open to any distance 10-20 miles, any trails (I don't know the trails there), any speed (you wait for me/I wait for you...it's all good).
  • I would prefer the free parking at the north end, at Coastal Peak Park, but if there's free parking at the south end somewhere, let me know.
Anyone interested?

Last-minute ride post...

Riding somewhere in/near Aliso tomorrow (6/8/18), starting some time around 11-12. I'm open to any trails, any speed, waiting for others (unlikely), slowing others down (very likely), and any distance between 10-20 miles.

Not sure what entrance I want to use (Nyes Place off Hwy 1, or the east lot off of Alicia Pkwy). I guess I'm open to either one, unless the one off Nyes Place is a bad idea (never used that entrance before).
Aliso is (as of today) still closed due to the fire last week. Nyes is kinda a pain to get to if you don't live or stay in Laguna. But not likely to be open anyway. LCWP I think is open and an option for you, Willow or Nix lot off 133 or Coastal Peak park on the north side. I just rode today or I might have joined ya. Have fun! And good to see you on here @redwoods !

Aye, Empty Beerz...

Just a little nudge from up Tahoe way... Between now and snow flying is prime time. I have the lay of some world-class circuits, full XC style to P2P shuttles and big descents, little or no dirt road grinding, quality ST, alpine goodness with terrain to justify suspension (or not). If you stop en route to D-ville or make Tahoe a destination, I can facilitate a ride or two that will be...memorable. :geek:

A couple of y'all I talked with already. I'm in Carson Valley, but more camping and lodging opportunities nearer the lake will open up after Labor Day. Not sure how much longer after that I'll be around, so hop to and let's get the goods. :)

Thanks for the invite. I have always wanted to ride Tahoe and for whatever reason never have. I created bad timing and really really really wish I could join you...:( Itks been too long!

Too long indeed, Mikie!

I too had conspicuously missed on Lake Tahoe riding, even rolling right by it on two D-ville trips. Believe it or not, I thought of the injured members here when I posted this...and hoped it didn't exacerbate :(. To be sure, we'll hammer out some trail later. If not in LT, in some other killer riding destination. Yes, we are SoCal based, but as the membership has shown, we're nation-wide. Stay on the path, brother...soon enough!

I put together the longest contiguous bike ride on the Tahoe Rim Trail that I could. South-north direction. Includes out/back from the starting point (south to Meiss Meadow and back), then north nearly to Mount Rose Highway. Finishes with some downhill tacked on, just because it's there.

East Side Rim Shot

73/16,000 @ elevation 6900-9700', many embedded rock sections, dismounting, HAB. A long day; pack lights. Much of this route I'm familiar with. Usual suspects, you know who you are...

Skypark 9/8 from 9am-2pm +/-. My buddy and I are going to be trying to dial in a few jumps/lines on neverland jump line and we'll sneak a few arrow runs in. This will be a social but persistent pace. Let me know if you're going to be up there and want to grab a few runs.
