The Post Your Ride Here... NO DERAILMENT Thread

Palm Canyon Friday 03/23/18. We're going to use the Crazy Bear shuttle. We need a few more peeps to make this trip happen. Let me know ASAP if you're interested. It's going to be perfect out there and it's only going to get warmer.
I'm the only one signed up so far...

Of course. Xavier is a great guy. What is your Mount Wilson plan if that happens?
It's a very soft "maybe". But maybe hop the Metrolink to Arcadia. Pedal up to the observatory, singletrack down. I've never been there, but I hear it is great, PCE level good riding.

Alternatives are pedal shuttling PCE, either on my Enduro (again) or my XC. Depends on if I want to go UP fast, or DOWN fast.

As I mentioned in the other thread I started, I've only been once and for "FUN factor" everybody in our group liked Mt Wilson much better than PCE. Of course we did the shuttles at Mt Wilson and there's no slog thru 3 miles of sand either. I can't say I remember most of the trail names we took but every single one of them was a blast, especially our last drop at Eaton Saddle. We took Mt Lowe East to Middle Sam Merrill to Mt Lowe East Railway to Sunset Ridge which funneled us out to the bottom somehow. We were told it was 12-13 miles and 5000' of drop. Sunset Ridge was one of my favorite trails ever.

No hikers that I recall either though there was one trail up top "in the back" that had 50-75 hikers. It was crazy.

Unfortunately the PCE ride fell through so tomorrow I will be headed over to Space Mountain to do some laps. It's the only area around here rideable after the rain.
Yeah, I got called into work so I'm heading up to Chantry for a couple of loops.
7:30am Friday from the upper lot

With the rain we got I have a feeling it'll be a mudfest...Gotta be up at the inlaws house by 1:00ish but maybe I can join in on some of it.
I have seen several different posts of people that rode there today. A little mud here and there but nothing impassable. Should be even better tomorrow.

Rode Tapia last week, nothing but mud. I hope you fair better.

Pretty muddy last weekend. Still thinking about a later morning run. If possible, please post up mud conditions, thanks.

Only a couple of muddy spots on Lower Dog Tag. From the locals G-Out is the only one they said to stay away from.
I've ridden G-out after a rain not knowing then that it needs a handful of days to drain and then dry out. It was the nastiest, gnarliest, slickest, most bike caking mudfest I have experienced on a bike.

Took a chance (based on your prior review) and rode from wayside on up, and then down to Tapia. Not bad mud wise. Dog tag was clean and fun as usual, thanks.
