Getting back on track.....

The MT will sell.....just look at how Nomads are out there. Perhaps not the $10k version....but you never know.

It is a lot of bike for most of the trails around here....don't I say that about most bikes. Yes, I know there is that one trail

I'm curious to see @Ebruner feedback on it when he gets some saddle time.

To me the OG Hightower is like this:

While this beast is way above the needs of anything I ride, I really like the way SC is going here geo wise. (this is coming from the bias of a tall person, who is mostly legs and arms). Long reach but now paired with a stack height that means my seat wouldn't be super awkwardly high above the bars, check. They finally getting a effective seat angle above 73, which means for those of us who have to have the seat raised higher, our weight isn't getting disproportionately shoved over the back wheel..... only gripe is chainstay length is the same on all sizes, I think only a few makers, like Norco address this... but at least this one is adjustable...

XL, Forest Green, X01 Build, Air Shock - Deciding on reserve wheels or not. I'm thinking of doing a custom graphics package in white to mirror the USFS Fire Fighting color scheme.

Sorta yolo'ing on sizes. The XL Bronson fits me quite nicely and this is a smidge shorter ETT due to the seat tube angle. I'm definitely a bit between sizes now on SC bikes where the XL feels big for the first two rides and then I adjust. The larges feel great at first, but a few months in after I adjust, I find that i get a tugging sensation where I feel like i'm being nudged forward over the bars a bit.

At any rate, this is going to be a big ass bike and that's the hole it's going to fill in my stable. I have a trance 29 to pair it up with that has reasonable numbers (specifically wheelbase). This will be the shuttle, bike park, bad decision machine. I was honestly on the fence but after reading the articles on nsmb and bike mag, and watching the bike mag youtube video... I'm all in. The comments about it being well rounded and comparable to the bronson were the tipping point.

I knew this was going to be the big end of my stable, but I definitely wanted to get something that could still do bigger days (like PCE or san gabes rides... and not punish me). Definitely looking forward to riding this thing at whistler with a coil shock, 180mm air spring and the long chainstay setting. Stormtrooper mode, engage.
And you never did get one of these, did you?

EDIT:
Ahh, at Steve's prompting and a little digging, I see that he did indeed get a MegaPlower - the same color as mine - and has a park setup with a coil shock and heavy bad-ass wheel/tire combo. I also recalled that Erik is recovering from surgery of some kind.
