Here's wishing you a speedy recovery Ross! Just take it easy for now.
We can rebuild him. Better, stronger, faster...

Im thinking that you will adjust to it.Sounds great. Can we shuttle? Ha!
I just noticed that these meds I'm on mess with my balance. I had to lay flat for almost 3 days while on heavy doses of blood thinners and anticoagulants so I didn't notice.
The first time I stood up was about 11am today. Two nurses stood by to assist me and I kind of chuckled inside and thought, I don't need no help. Yeah right. As I stood up, I immediately leaned hard left and the nurse put her hand against my shoulder to steady me. I just thought 3 days on my back...
Checked my meds list and the only one that lists dizzyness or light-headedness was the Coreg. Coreg is used to lower/keep lower than normal, your heart rate.
This is the only drug that they thought I might not be able to use. That's due to my low resting heart rate.
At the hospital, I was constantly setting off the monitor alarms because the low limit of the monitor was set at 60bpm. They reset it to 50bpm. That went off when I fell asleep and my HR went down into the low 40s. Beep beep!
Guess call to the Cardiologist in the morning is necessary.
I'm going to use my old Garmin HR monitor and sleep in it tonight with the limit alarm set for 40 bpm. See what happens.
This. I've been on carvedilol for over a decade and vaguely remember the dizziness. If I jump out of bed I may feel a little lightheaded so I don't jump out of bed.Im thinking that you will adjust to it.
"twisted and evil"?
Wow, that's a lasting effect.This. I've been on carvedilol for over a decade and vaguely remember the dizziness. If I jump out of bed I may feel a little lightheaded so I don't jump out of bed.
Heck I can stand up out of my BarcaLounger and nearly drop to the floor light headed from low blood pressure, and that’s without any medication.This. I rarely eat after 8:00pm@rossage so good to hear you'll likely read this post from the comfort of your own home.
FWIW. I put some ACV in my water every morning. On top of the many other health benefits, it has been proven to help w/ cholesterol and sugar levels. Worth a look and try if you can stomach it. You build up tolerance really fast. I do this with intermittent fasting to a degree. No food from 8pm until 10 am the next day. Except coffee in the morning w/ coconut creamer, honey, and a scoop of collagen peptides. Works great for me. During my "eating window", I eat pretty much whatever I want. But, 98.3% of the time it is good clean organic foods that have very little to zero preservatives and no GMO's. Quality over quantity.

@rossage what an adventure. Glad to hear that you are coming out on the positive side.
Here's to continuing recovery and health.
I rarely eat after 8:00pm
Almost every day I eat a 1/2 cup of Almonds and about 5 dried figs before 10:00am
On my way to work I drink a coffee Cathy makes me. It’s like an organic frappachino.
That is awesome. My snack at 10 am is handfuls of my own mix of trail mix. Almonds, Cashews, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Raisins, and Cranberries. Soooo freaking gooooood! Try some Medjool Dates if you like Figs. They're so sweeet!

This post has it all. Kudos. That's exactly how I approach this situation. I was laid low by a health situation and placed into a foreign world where my challenge was to live. I accepted the challenge and took my medicine. I am back in the real world and my job is to heal and return to normal life so I am ready for the next adventure.
Every day is a holiday, every meal a feast.
Lesson for today, don't squeeze pimples on blood thinners....

I was texting with an uber-healthy friend who recommended the Ape diet.
Eat like the primate you are. Lots of fruits, veggies, nuts, and whole grains. Oh yeah, and the occasional frog, lizard, or baby chimp if you can get it.
Chow down hogs!
I try to eat only organic, non-gmo, free range, unprocessed, preservative, pesticide, and chemical free. Or as our grandparents called it - food. *the preceding statement was both plagiarized, and likely butchered. That's a good friend you got there Ross. The primal diet (paleo) is hardcore, but works well for most. Although the food we eat has evolved immensely, our bodies have not. We are still internally designed the same as our cavemen ancestors were. Which is why personal diet is more important today than 20 years ago. Our bodies have not evolved to be able to regulate all the foreign chemicals now found in our food. Which, IMO and a lot of others is why it is important to eat clean organic non-gmo foods. That is what our bodies are designed to intake. Think of it like putting in 87 octane gas into a engine that requires 93 octane. It's going to run like Sh!t and cut the lifespan down. I am sure you are aware of this.
IF you really want to get down to the nitty gritty of what foods you "should or should not eat" look into the Whole30 plan. It'll help you determine what foods you have reactions too and what you don't. Think of it like a resetting your body to the basic foods that we are designed to eat. After 30 days you start re-introducing different foods one at a time and see how they do or do not affect you. Then decide if it's worth keeping in your diet. It's worth a look, especially if you have lots of free time.

Thanks for your input. Your responses pop up in my head everytime I open the fridge door.
I wanted a couple of Oreos last night but settled on an apple instead.
@buggravy good on you! Check out ButcherBox, SunBasket, and Imperfect Foods. All are food delivery services that offer full organic non-gmo alternatives. SunBasket is more of a meal service, they send you all the ingredients. Just prep, cook, and enjoy. We get 2-3 meals a week delivered.
