I'm not going to speculate on which bike is down. I will simply wait in the shadows until it is revealed.

The important thing is that the team remains intact and functioning even with one bike down. The fact that everyone on the team is on a SS would seem to make a transition onto another teammate's bike a little easier.

It must be, I am pretty sure 2 weeks ago I raced a steel bike that used to be yours when you were a young lad. How do you explain that? My Niner Sir is 10 years old and still kicking. This broke at that dent. I think the tubing is just too thin. Did you see that pic? Crazy

Not sure. It is proprietary to Esker. Obviously, that thin to make it lighter. Bad idea! Or I am just a beast! HAHA

Riders of all shapes and sizes.
Tons of females participating.
Tons of Juniors competing.
There is something magical about the desert at night.
There timing system leaves a lot to be desired.

If steel was so amazing they would be building military aircraft out of it, oh wait… they don’t! They build them out of composite because it’s lighter and stronger!

My steel bike is so the 90’s. Fact is you’re a beast!
That had to be a weird feeling when it let go…

Definitely but I don't want that frame anymore. Got my heart set on a Spot Rocker.

Figure if I can get a lighter carbon bike that has the ride quality of that bike I am sold. Though @mtnbikej Chameleon was awesome

we did 19 laps. 2 of our laps never got entered….timing was done manually. So 1 of John’s and 1 of Steve’s laps never made it to our total….they said we did 17.

so our 19 put us anywhere from 7-10th out of 19 depending on overall times. Official results show us at 13th. Not bad considering John’s broken bike lap was cancelled and we lost that hour.

The course was a blast but hard. Lots of steep punch climbs, but then became awesomely float. Great team. We had a great time

LIGHTER being the key word. Imagine the increased jet power required to get an all steel fighter jet off the ground.
