Well, he's dead so...

That was Kelly McGarry's bike after a hard landing at Rampage two years ago. Kelly died on a routine trailbike ride near his home in New Zealand. He was an awesome soul with a huge heart. Literally - probably too big.
Oh damn. There was no caption on that pic from where I copied it from. My bad.
I unintentionally made light of a tragic situation

With a holiday of this importance why am I at work?

When I moved here from Florida, I thought this place was Alaska. Normal temps in the 60s???? I had to wear a jacket and gloves for 6 months.
I have a friend who lives in MN. One days when the temps finally reach 30, everyone is out in t-shirts and shorts (as long as it is sunny). My friend doesn't even like to wear gloves when he is riding!

I dunno, I grew up here in So Cal and was way more immune to the cold than my friends in college out in Boston (who were almost all from New England/East). I hate pants, only wear them when I really have to like slacks to work and times when my wife says I should. I'd see weirdos wearing parkas and scarves well past the time you should walking around Boston quite a bit. I would go winter mountain climbing with my construction buddy and most of my friends thought I was nuts and I was the one with the nickname "sunshine" being from CA.

I grew up near Buffalo... As a kid, there was no such thing as cold. I did several polar plunges through the ice on Lake Erie. Some involved alcohol, some were more planned. :whistling: Then I moved to Florida, and it ruined me! My blood thinned out, and anything under 80 was an emergency situation! It took awhile to get used to SoCal weather, but I'd have a hard time leaving now...

It still makes me laugh when the guy that is born and raised in OC is more comfortable in the cold than the guy that grew up in Buffalo. :Roflmao:thumbsup:
