How many bikes does one have to have at a given time in order to reach true bliss deep within the soul?
Not "42" ?N+1.
Not "42" ?
Just one. One new bike every few months. How many bikes does one have to have at a given time in order to reach true bliss deep within the soul?
I think most of us lack the financial means, and/or the spousal freedom to truly answer that question. It's kind of like how many licks to the center of a tootsie pop. I think @Sasquatch9billion 's formula makes pretty good sense though. How many bikes does one have to have at a given time in order to reach true bliss deep within the soul?
So.. How many is enough? Maybe one more.
Hmmm… I'll try to sell this formula to the Mrs.. . . [cough, cough] N+1...
I prefer the "one for every occasion" plan. And I'm not divorced.... yet....Just one. One new bike every few months.
I have 3 really good bikes 2 full suspension and 1 hardtail and enough extra used parts now to build another plus a brand new 2019 Hightower 27+ frame waiting in a box for the rainy day to assemble and put it into service. I've never felt better since doing this activity. My daughter enjoys her bike too. She rides more than me! So.. How many is enough? Maybe one more.
There is a bike shootout on page 26 of the January 2020 issue of MBA that you might be interested in.Fortunately, I do not suffer from N+1 on bikes. I just want one great bike at a time, every 4-5 years.
What about your track, CX, Road and Baguette slayer needs? You don't use a mtn. bike for that, do you?[/QUOTE I wouldn't know what any of these other bikes, platforms, XC, CX or races or whatever are being new to mountain bike riding in the last 2 1/2 years.
