Congrats @Derkderkall on the new rig. Should be a fun upgrade from the fossil you have been riding.
If I may ask..
If I may ask..
Did your frame come with a chainstay protector?
No. I bought mine as a frameset and it only came with a headset, a seatpost shim, and a super clunky seatpost clamp.
Hmmm
Ok
The frames online all show a rubber protector.
But the mountain bike action review also mentions no protector...
I'll have to add my own

You gotta add one of these to your rear wheel ASAP to protect your spokes from chain wedge! I’ll sell you this one for $5!Hmmm

Doood! So you put the bike away from then until now!? Was that one of the rides with Shannon? Good to see you on here!
[QUOTE="Sasquatch9billion, post: 219253, member: 161"]No Motors!!!!
Good for you!!! Welcome back!
Is that the one @Luis you made an appearance at Inspiration Point and sandbagged the rest of the day?I don't specifically remember Shannon, but we had a good sized group. You hang up the bike once and for all?
That was a New Year’s Day ride I met up with you and your shuttle crew

@Blif, do you recognize any of these?

everyday I’m shuttling

@Bluesrider was on this crew as well and led the charge up the Mt Lowe East Trail.
Unfortunately not...but that's mainly because I have never (and will never) shuttle..... No hate for shuttlers. I want to say it was either Chilao, Strawberry, or somewhere nearby there. You def pedaled up with us that ride. The most vivid memory? Dio using duct tape to secure those knee /elbow pads
He still has the same pieces of tape.
Wow! That was a while ago! There might be a ride report for that somewhere here. @rossage, you were talking about going camping a la “Lord of the Flies” style and singing Godzilla!Unfortunately not...but that's mainly because I have never (and will never) shuttle..... Are you all about to ride the same trail? Ranging from fully rigid to full face helmets in that crew. I'm willing to bet the fully rigid rider did better than most of the shuttle monkeys!View attachment 64543

Yeah, no. I just know that athletic bike handlers tend to outride couch potatoes.OMG... Now you’re starting to sound like me! The metamorphosis has begun.
Relative to his equipment, absolutely. Kinda like when I show up at Aliso chasing you down rock-it on a bike from 2002. This shuttle ride was led by Shannon the whole way. Then Bettis with the yellow neck brace, and then it was me and a redhead bearded dude neck and neck Until @Luis showed up to rattle all the monkey cages. Are you all about to ride the same trail? How about this crew?

That looks great!Pandemic bike.
I’m home bored while a block wall is getting built.
I’ve been tootin around the neighborhood on an old cruiser that I rescued from the trash and rattle can painted. The problem is that it has always been too small and I have to ride it with my heels on the pedals.
I went searching on Craigslist, and found a beat up Electra with a flat tire for cheap. I ended up finding about 50 thorns in it.
It was pretty crusty after being outside. So I stripped it down to paint it.
I sanded, then primered, then automotive matte black, a couple of accent colors, then clear coat.
Got it all done in a day. Put it together the next day with a fresh bottom bracket. Just something to dü.

I was researching what paint to use and came across this video, where I got the splatter idea.
