Hmmm

Ok
The frames online all show a rubber protector.
But the mountain bike action review also mentions no protector...

I'll have to add my own
You gotta add one of these to your rear wheel ASAP to protect your spokes from chain wedge! I’ll sell you this one for $5!

Good for you!!! Welcome back!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think that... :Roflmao

Welcome back, @Blif ... Good looking bikes. I'm glad to see you didn't go with the kickstand and rear rack options. Although the rack looks perfect size for a 12 pack... Hmmm.[/QUOTE]

ehhhh.....a rear rack might come in one day as I plan to use it for a few bikepacking trips!

@Blif, do you recognize any of these?

@Bluesrider was on this crew as well and led the charge up the Mt Lowe East Trail.

Unfortunately not...but that's mainly because I have never (and will never) shuttle..... No hate for shuttlers. I want to say it was either Chilao, Strawberry, or somewhere nearby there. You def pedaled up with us that ride. The most vivid memory? Dio using duct tape to secure those knee /elbow pads

Wow! That was a while ago! There might be a ride report for that somewhere here. @rossage, you were talking about going camping a la “Lord of the Flies” style and singing Godzilla!

Edit: Nevermind...

the ride report was with me having upgraded to my current pads, which were washed by a rain event a few months back! So there sausage man!

Are you all about to ride the same trail? Ranging from fully rigid to full face helmets in that crew. I'm willing to bet the fully rigid rider did better than most of the shuttle monkeys!
Relative to his equipment, absolutely. Kinda like when I show up at Aliso chasing you down rock-it on a bike from 2002. This shuttle ride was led by Shannon the whole way. Then Bettis with the yellow neck brace, and then it was me and a redhead bearded dude neck and neck Until @Luis showed up to rattle all the monkey cages.

Pandemic bike. Not new, but new to me.
I’m home bored while a block wall is getting built.
I’ve been tootin around the neighborhood on an old cruiser that I rescued from the trash and rattle can painted. The problem is that it has always been too small and I have to ride it with my heels on the pedals.
I went searching on Craigslist, and found a beat up Electra with a flat tire for cheap. I ended up finding about 50 thorns in it.
It was pretty crusty after being left outside. So I stripped it down to paint it.
I sanded, then primered, then automotive matte black, a couple of accent colors, then clear coat.
Got it all done in a day. Put it together the next day with a fresh bottom bracket. Just something to dü.

I was researching what paint to use and came across this video, where I got the splatter idea.

Hell yea, looks great!

Light a fire under the masonry crew. Or grab a trowel, hehe.

New bike day. The heavy lifting on this build is done. One longer bolt and one longer chain  is all it needs.

2020 Kingdom Vendetta Custom

64.5° HA, 74° STA, Asian-made ti, 130-150 fork

Some very well used (three bikes previously) re-purposed parts include:
Pike 130 RCT non-boost with barely-made-it steerer tube length (thought of you, @SnakeCharmer)
Arch Mk3/DT Swiss 240 wheels, boostinated rear
XT brakes with barely-made-it rear hose length

The cockpit:
SQ Labs 30X med-rise 16° backsweep carbon bar, 31.8mm dia
Ergon GA2 Fat grips
KS Ether 50mm stem
WTB Volt Team 142mm
PNW Coast 125mm dropper with 40mm of air suspension/PNW Loam lever
OneUp Aluminum flats

The drive:
Wolftooth boost eliptical 30t x 22t (for now)

I put on used tires, 2.5 DHF and Aggressor. 27 lbs. on the scale. Not moved much these days by bike weight, but am glad I diverted from the cromo path I was on. I would have ended up with a 30-lb SS.

The best news: Driveway spin indicates I nailed the size to an absolute tee. It fits like my x-med Smash except a hardtail. And the angles feel dreamy, not extreme. This is looking really good. I'll be cranking this beauty around Tahoe all summer, looking forward to an excercycle that can handle the business.

NBD!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup::inlove::geek:
