Imagine a 7 year old mind from a folk-music household getting blown open by that stuff. It happened.
Ha ha! That was me but it was my Vietnam vet Dad blasting Let it Bleed on the 8-track!

You got it, brother. Stones were just huge; still going today?!?! Really glad that solid stuff from last century isn't lost on today's discerning ears.Ha ha! That was me but it was my Vietnam vet Dad blasting Let it Bleed on the 8-track!
TFPU, Steve, that was worthy!Super Session Cover of Donovan's Season of the Witch
Thank you, Steve. It stops me cold every time. That’s a beautiful version. For all the Birthday Boys and Girls

It’s been called one of the most iconic guitar pieces ever written. I don’t line up with critics, but on that I agree. How someone could make noise while Jorma plays his guitar is beyond me. But I was not there.
Right on. He has it all – writing, musicianship, voice, live, producing." Keep your lamp trimmed and burning "
I like Jorma Kaukonen
That's a fun video!
That would be Ginger Baker. Bummer to lose a Drummer!Because Ginger's gone
I hope the sweetness of those performances smoothed out the bitter. A few “good” chords played thoughtfully and with soul. It’s therapy like nothing can be in my simple mind.A moment of distinct bitter sweetness today, more bitter than sweet, reminded me of this song for the first time in a while. Originally from one of my most favorite albums from one of my most favorite seasons in life. Such a good version of it here.
And just for good measure, an outright anthem from that same record & season. Such fantastic music. This put me in a much better mood tonight.
Yup. And the bitter was definitely first world problems. A major step in the process of saying farewell to an inanimate friend. Also just one of those days where at the end I was mentally drained, and had one of those moments where a person might reach for a drink, or a smoke, or something to transport them to a different headspace. Twas a good reminder that a good and well played song can do exactly the same thing.I hope the sweetness of those performances smoothed out the bitter. TFPU. I’ve lived really close to Red Rocks Amphitheater in the last couple years but never went. Why...
Why am I not surprised that you are a BHTATM fan? You and I keep discovering parallel tastes in damn near everything. BitterSweet is one of my faves to play on guitar, as is most everything else on the album. When I saw Todd live (at The Grove with Collective Soul), I was shocked at what a talented guitarist he is.A moment of distinct bitter sweetness today, more bitter than sweet, reminded me of this song for the first time in a while.
