Ahhh, are you at the full arm's length yet to read small print? I am currently at about 7/8 arm length and failing fast!

Yep, gotta take the glasses off and hold the newspaper at arms length to do the crosswords. Looking under the (prescription) sunglasses on the bike to read the Garmin. I can drive in the daytime without my glasses, as long as I know where I am and I've been where I'm going, and I probably won't kill anyone....at night? Fuhgeddaboutit.

I've said this before elsewhere, but you all can never get enough of tales of majesty from my awesome life... (rolling eyes emoji)

I am a contact lens wearer with horrible distance vision (-6.0). After I hit 51, I could no longer read close while wearing contacts. I had to use cheap magnifier glasses, which meant carrying a pair everywhere I went. Oh sure, you can compensate by taking a picture of what your'e trying to read, then enlarging it (like ingredients, serial numbers, etc), but that's only for emergencies.

During my last eye exam a few months ago, I was telling my tales of visual woe and the doctor/angel says, "Have you tried multi-focal contacts?"
Whaaaaat? "Do you mean wearing one near and one far - I've tried that. Made me nauseous."
"No, they are truly multi-focal with concentric circles. Your eyes find the right spot. Give 'em a try."

And I did. And my life is forever changed! Haven't used readers since. No problems with daytime peripheral vision. They do have a lot of refracted light driving at night, but it's so worth it.

And now, back to handlebar vistas.

Whoa!

If we ever travel together for a group ride meet up, I will be doing all of the driving. I INSIST! :D

Congrats Herz. That must be like a small miracle in your life.

Doing it in reverse? The bridge shot should come before the golf course, methinks. :)
I was just out goofing around, not doing a full loop. I only did a few bits and piece of the Floop. Started at Craig park, did part of Panorama, some stuff behind the damn, more on the tennis court side, Anaheim Branch rail path to Hermosa, Juanita Cooke south to the courthouse, and then back to Craig.

Well...
Both Cathy and I went to the eye doctor today for our annual eye exam (actually, we both had “both” eyes examined ).
I told her about your multi-focal contact lens. She mentioned them to the doc, tried them, loved them, bought them!
She loves them!
Mrs. imtbtrails told me to thank you with much gracious appreciation!

Here's my lame attempt at a behind the bars shot from today at the top of T and A (Laguna Ridge). I missed the shot of Telonics in the distance, and there was too much haze to see the ocean. But my bike looks pretty!

The water tank in the distance on the left is where 5-Oaks starts, which was the first descent of the day for us..
