Life...Behind Bars

So did you bail on your HD3 already?
Nope, just had to go two weeks without since the Cane Creek DB Air Sh!t the bed and was being serviced (under warranty, but the bike is less than 2 months old, hopefully mine was just bad luck and the DB Air isn't as bad as the DB Inline). But, my time on the uber blinged out Ripley LS has me seriously considering a change already!

@littlewave I am sure you have discovered that 29ers are faster in almost all situations. And I imagine there is no denying the confidence to smash over Sh!t going downhill, if the head angle and fork is right. I'm still clinging on to the illusion that there's a benefit to 27.5 other than they look cooler to me. When I ride with guys on 275s, I do fine. When I ride with guys on 29ers, they wait a lot.

Sorry for the thread derail. Please commence OTB photos.

I remember riding this trail. I started at sapphire in rancho and trail ended on moutain ave that heads up to baldy. I haven't been there in years! I remember just hating that uphill!
That first climb up Sapphire is miserable! I did it only once to access a lower section for maintenance, and I hated it too. I always shuttle Barrett Stoddard. ~12 miles/1,000' climb/3,500' drop...or so. Los Scorpios Peligrosos rode it last Monday right after the thunderstorms and said it was in good shape.

Omg, yeah that paved road up to the first gate is brutal! When I was there (this was about 3 years ago) There was a big downed tree that we had to go over or under and pretty badly shrub overgrowth. Are there are decent trails coming down the mt. baldy summit? I remember going up there one time with my bike and the downhill was awesome but lots of hike a bike sections! I've been studying google earth for quite some time and I think I found a good trail on paper of course it's always different there in person. Hit me up for the shuttling. I'm in!
