Lots of ash making its way north to my car windshield here in the foothills...
That happened to me once during a camping trip. I had to get a cortisone shot because I was affected throughout my body.I hope the firefighters don't inhale a lot of poison ivy smoke, and I'm not sure how they avoid it. A friend accidentally inhaled some while burning brush on his ranch and ended up in the hospital with a severely swollen throat and lungs.
Yup, looks like it from here. The Inceweb website yesterday stated they were low on resources also. The news is saying that the fire has picked up this morning.

And Jim, it's poison oak (even though it looks nothing like an oak), not poison ivy.
Well, they are using Irvine Park as a staging area. I saw one post of 383 firefighters with a request for a total of 600. That would take a lot of trucks. Should be rotating crews back and forth, often on 12 hour shifts.I just heard that there are a lot of (FS green) fire trucks heading into Irvine Regional and over by the lake/OTH area. Perhaps staging additional fire crews? Setting up camp for a bigger assault? Longer duration? All conjecture, but heard it was in the neighborhood of 20-25 trucks.
OK, good, I'm glad it's not something new. I hope they get those additional crews, and also hope the air-delivered fire retardant is full strength and hasn't been dumbed down by environmental laws. Not that I'm anti-environmental, just that I want to see the fire crews have every chance of getting this thing stopped.Well, they are using Irvine Park as a staging area. I keep checking inciweb for updated fire perimeter map
Hopefully not gonna get down there, but that's right in the current path isn't it.So bummed to see this!! Hope they get a handle on it. My brother lives on the Corona side at the base of Indian Truck Trail.
Thanks and yup, looks pretty close!Hopefully not gonna get down there, but that's right in the current path isn't it.
Air quality in Pomona is horrible:
Is that at Cal Poly?
I hate to say this, but that’s a really good photo! It sure looks like it picked up this morning... Smells like it, too.
