from the NPS today: The sequoias are adapted to fire — and rely on it to survive. But more than a century of aggressive fire suppression has left forests choked with dense vegetation and downed timber that has provided fuel for massive wildfires that have grown more intense during an ongoing drought and exacerbated by climate change.
So I must ask what is "climate change". How do I recognize this statement of fact?
Many giants are over 3000 years old, but the biggest and best specimens are rather young.
So is this "climate change" a new thing in the last 3000 years?

I got really worried when the Countries CEO said he had Oil Cancer. That was bad news. The old goat kicked cancers butt in one day but now he has BA 1 or 2 or some other mutant strain of Corona Virus. Hopefully he will pull through, lucky for him it is a mild strain and does not kill many except the very old. He is a skilled cyclist so I think his chances are good. When the initial engineered virus ran amok, they elderly were not so lucky. The newest strain infects the mostly vaccinated population, about 70% of the cases were fully vaxed over the last 2 weeks in my county.
G*D bless the USA, we did not need another tragedy.

I was out watering my garden this morning and heard two shots ring out.
Gave me flashbacks to living in LA.
Did we just have a drive by ?
Text the neighbors..........snake problems this morning??
Yep, the rattlers like to hang out at thier back door and they almost stepped on it.
Knock on my wooden leg, we haven't seen or heard a rattler in a few years. I know they are out there.

Speaking of rattlers, my mom nearly tripped over this behemoth a couple days ago while taking her trash out. She's had about a half dozen of them this year.

probably true but not in July, August and September.

Just going to say, I cut my ride short yesterday - for the first time ever - due to a combination of heat and humidity. It was only 92 or so... but with the humidity I could not stay cool. My jersey and shorts were literally dripping wet - but no evaporation = no cooling.

However there's always tomorrow! :)
