I Rode My Bike Today...

Rode my bike solo today through Aliso/Woods on a very pleasant afternoon. What I call my “Trilogy” loop(s) including Lynx, Rockit, and Meadows connected by Cholla climbs. Didn’t stop or put a foot down except to pull bee stinger out of my chest after damn thing flew into my shirt. Felt nice to just keep going and not stop to wait or catch breath. Posted strong times and broke 44 PRs including top time today down Meadows. I’m sure it will be broke by midnight, but feels cool to see name up top on something. Haha.
My new bike feels solid. Love itView attachment 40357

Told you that Hightower is scary fast.

My Hightower Cruz Brothah!
Welcome to the World of Bitchen Fast Bikes!;) Yeah... I capitalized on purpose...

I did a quickie through Cherry Canyon this morning to beat the heat. I was on a wildlife appreciation ride so I stopped when I encountered anything interesting. Found some caterpillars and a pair of Whiptail lizards that were "makin' bacon". No snakes today but plenty of lizards.

Also, it was "keep your dog off the leash day" today up there. Heck, there was even some mountain bikers who had their dog roaming ahead of them.

9.95 miles
1348'

Golden Eagle again today:whistling: Went up the fire road instead of single track to add more miles, not a FR fan, but I need to get endurance back. Beautiful day with lots of wildlife, including Mountain lion tracks and a baby rattlesnake. Made some decent Strava times even though I took a little tumble and dropped the f bomb enough times to make a sailor blush:)

Don't be mad!

Short ride tonight.
5.3 mi and 680 ft. @ 97*
Had to be done before 6:45. Tony and I waited a bit for two others to show up but we gave up and started without them. After a couple of miles we stopped to gab for a few minutes and the late comers caught up. Started to climb to the top bench and we see @Mikie waving to us. Had to go and gab with his group for a while. One of my ridding buds lives in St. George so Mikie tried to set up a future trip to southern Utah. Come on Mikie, less talk and more riding. Besides, he was my friend first. All kidding aside it was a short but fun one. I even PRed a segment on the way down.

Well... @mtnbikej and I planned to do an out and back to Old Camp last night, but one of us is still hurting pretty bad. We made it to the little lookout finger just before the last climb on STT.

One observation? Of the 8 riders we saw to that point, 5 were on electric bikes. It was a little funny to watch the guy try to lift it over the moto gate. One was a young kid... following a herd of electric rambos. Way to teach them young.

A rider that I follow on Strava had an incident with one yesterday morning. On his way down the luge, he ran into one clueless individual on an electric motorcycle climbing it. The only good news? I still don't see many of them higher up. But it's only a matter of time...

Edit: Looking at Strava, the individual who climbed the luge yesterday has all of 37 miles experience.

Yeah, not one of my better days. Still feel like I am not getting enough oxygen. I get the sensation like I'm hyperventilating, but I'm not.

Was fun to push the buttons of the ebiker suffering to pull his bike over the barrier......yeah, I have no filter. :whistling:

Pushed on a little bit to the look over below the last climb to the Luge.

Did find a blinky light on the way back.....so it wasn't a total loss.

I've happened upon some hikers at the lower section (The Luge) before.

I know you've mentioned that before... As much as I don't care for the luge, I ride it quite often. I can do O'Neill and Luge in under 2 hours from the house. I've never seen a hiker. I've run into forest service workers, but never a casual hiker. And even if I had, that's a lot different than an e-bike ascending a DH trail at XC speeds into downhill traffic. That's nuts.

And we're all slowly forgetting that the forest service says they aren't allowed on non-motorized trails... Lack of enforcement is acceptance.

We ran into a 55-60 year old runner on the Leg once. He was moving along pretty good, especially considering he was running in *sandals* that looked straight out of a Ben Hur or Troy movie scene. Anyway, even though we had a train of bikes moving at what we thought was warp speed, this guy WOULD NOT YIELD AN INCH!!! He's lucky one of our nicer riders was up front (I was about #3 in line) because while I wouldn't have plowed over the guy, I would have passed him and If I clipped him, I wouldn't have felt bad.

• Uphill traffic has the right of way
• Bikes yield to foot traffic

But hey, he was ruining your run. It’s not like you could never ride it again
