I Rode My Bike Today...

Rode up Harding to the " Point of No Return ", and in an act of daring contrarianism, returned without advancing beyond. Too much fog, rain, wind and cold up ahead.

Here are a couple of standing and sitting around shots from Sunday's gathering.

The crew: Burt, Carson, Carter, David, Hans, Jose, Matt, Sylvia, and myself.

The route: Charlton flats to Vetter Mountain overlook. Vetter to Chilao on the Silver Moc. Chilao to Hillyer for a couple of loops through the rocks. Horse flats to Christian camp to jump back on the Silver moc. Silver Moccasin back to Charlton Flats.

There were thrills, chills and a couple of spills but thankfully no hospitals were involved. Overall an awesome day in the high country of the San Gabes.
Ended up with 26 miles and 4275 ft

I took my heihei for a little ride at oaks yesterday. This is the first time I've ridden a mountain bike since 3/24. I took it very easy since my back is still pretty weak but no pain during or after so that's a big score.

Climbed Oaks, Down Cactus, up goats, down chutes and out. 6.7 miles and 1k feet. Felt great to be back on dirt. In fact, I was so fired up that I opted for a cold and drizzly bike commute this morning to work. Another 6.5 miles and 125'.

Good to be back on the horse.

welcome back to the Oaks!
I love that Kona hei hei.. but it was killing my wrists/back... now I limit my Hei Hei rides to the floop or main divide climbs..

Interesting. I have a pretty bad back (Surgery 12 months ago) and this bike honestly feels pretty dang good. I will say that i needed some riser bars and a few spacers under the headset to get comfortable. Also... my first ride on this thing was on a set back seat post and it destroyed my back. Other then that it's a super comfortable bike.

Brown - Ken Burton loop from JPL with @rossage this morning. Got soaked to the bone before making it down to the arroyo. Not from rainfall or from wet trails but from the moisture on the plants.
Scrapped the idea of going back up to add El Prieto in favor of dry warm clothing back at the cars.
Great ride nevertheless :)

I rode the Black Star/ Maple Springs motorway loop today. Up to the Doppler was dry. Between the Doppler and motorway was heavy mist/ light rain if that makes sense. The cold and wet eventually won out and I put my phone away and rode the rest of the ride in my rainjacket. What a great day! I enjoyed every minute.

Sounds cold up on Main Divide. However Motorway conditions look perfect.

Main Divide is so much "fun" when you're in the soup! Nice ride...

Nice one I think I’m gonna do the loop tomorrow morning

Yesterday was too cold and breezy, so I stayed in. Today was too cold and breezy and I went out. I wasn't out long. Quick ride at the Oaks. 53* on the ridge. Really glad we didn't go up Maple Springs to Main Divide like we normally would have.

15.5/2000'

Did run into these fine folks at the top of Goat:

LOL!!!! Gumby and Pokey :laugh::Roflmao:giggle:

Did the BS-MW Loop this morning. Absolutely beautiful day with almost zero dust from the recent moisture. Spotted a lion 50 yards ahead of me crossing the trail at mile 11. Waited until it made its way into the bushes after a brief staring contest. The tail gave it away, it was no bobcat.

Temps were on point and not another person to be found the entire way.
