I Rode My Bike Today...

Made it to Pre Scott with 3hrs of daylight. Had a ride planned right from the Boys apt. Rode around Willow Creek lake into the Granite Dells. I researched these trails, they were dble black to Pro level stuff. I concur. I walked several drop and climbs. Nailed others. Want to try them again. Made it through into the Constellation trails which I have ridden b4 was running out of light so had to cut these short not b4 yard saling it into the rocks. A bump and couple of bleeders. Hit the hwy home. 11 miles 1000' of climb.
For those of you that enjoy huge slabs of rough granite these are for you.

Sunday afternoon ride around the hood

^Twas a very fun and nice ride today with the IMTB crew plus 3-4. Seemed like we had most of Maple Springs to ourselves then all of OC appeared at 4 Corners.
I was happy to witness the KOM take off at the top of Motorway then 20 minutes later I caught up with @mtnbikej, @Faust29 , @horsebikerider and the rest of the group at the bottom. Very interesting weather today but Kay-Oss did not complain. The Turner Flux is a much better choice for Motorway ...
You killed it out there, sister! So glad that you and G-Reg could join us. Always more fun with the full Monte's :giggle:

That is a fun group to ride with.

I did a quickie with the plus tires around Arroyo and Tijeras, with a little diversion to Waterworks. Last time down Waterworks I had the road bike with 28mm tires. The 3.0 Trailblazer was just a touch more fun. It would have been a great run, except for the group of little old ladies who questioned why I was on a hiker trail. o_O:eek::confused:

20 miles and 1500 feet...

Trying to ride more often after work even if it is the local Floop. Lately I've lost a solid 10 pounds and trying to lose 10 more. Flooped last night on the SS. Man I love not shifting. Only a few noobs out n about. Peaceful ride clearing my mind of the BS I put up with at work. Plus I wanted to test out the new fork. The old Minute sucked. Broken controls, stuck, leaking... Found a Markhor which is the current replacement for the Minute. 1.125" steerer, 9mm quick release, rebound, lock out, same size and most importantly same light weight.;) Wow controls that work! This thing is plush! Very linear. Probably too much so. Will monkey around with it later. Not a bad upgrade for a bike I don't want to sink money into. Only $200.

Today was a great day to ride at night. It seemed like I was the only one out there which was funny. I got off work late and the temp at Rocky Peak Road was 94. It would be a nasty day on that ridge in the sunshine. I hope it will cool down so I can drop Humming Bird again.
Happy first hot day of the year trails

That was yesterday sitting in my computer. Today I rode the valley on my mtn bike. Gosh the amount of friction really sucks. Doing a bunch of miles on pavement lets you know how much energy it takes to ride the trails. I would have ridden my road bike but I put air in last night and my front was flat this am, so the mountain bike got a taste of pavement
Happy maybe time for some E bike trails.

It's Tuesday.....it's a ride day. Looked at the temps out at the Oaks at 3:00 and it was 93*.....yeah....no. Waited.....then headed out at 4:30'ish. Still hot....still really dry. I was half way through my 1 bottle in the first 30 mins.

The heat zapped my energy....with the later start, good thing I had only planned on a short spin.

So that is all I did.......

Mixed it up a little bit today. Instead of the usual Maple Springs / Motorway loop.....we went and rode in Tesla Land......er, I mean Shady Canyon.

Someone....not me is doing a big ride on Saturday and wanted a shorter and easier ride today....so that is what was on the table.

From Quail Trailhead, up Quail to Serrano to Camarillo to Stagecoach South to Willow...turn around, Stagecoach South(going North) all the way back to Nix, then West Canyon back to Serrano and back to Quail Trailhead. Did the Quail Wetlands Loop just to check it out.

Saw a Bobcat out on Serrano, and this friendly guy on the Stagecoach climb to Nix:

Is that a Red? Where is @ SnakeCharmer?

So soon? Commuting on the "safe" bike?? :whistling:
Yep they've been out in force for the last couple weeks around here. Even saw one this morning at about 6:30am while the temps were probably low 50's. I would have stopped and got a picture but my heart was already pounding out of my chest from pushing the stupid heavy minions and having a near head on with another rider at the butt crack of dawn. As for the safe bike I'll take dodging or waiting for a a few snakes to move any day versus bailing and stuffing my shoulder in to the ground again...
