I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

My badass singlespeed monster of a friend Colin, today, wants to... Take a hike!?!? The outpouring of sympathy for my lame wrist is heartwarming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Yes, I fought him on it, no dice.
I’ve learned that a hike, as slow as it is..can soothe the soul pretty well. It’s not a run or a mtb ride kinda thrill...but ya know..it’s better than being sedentary.
Glad you got to play out there Mike!

Worked this morning. Came home this afternoon to give the gravel bike a serious once over before riding it but as soon as I flipped the lever the rear axle skewer assembly snapped and sh!t parts all over the floor then my father inlaw showed up and now the beer is tasting pretty good and I already lite the charcoal so today is a wash.

BBQ & beer....2nd best if no ride included. :whistling::laugh:

Well, it rained most of the day yesterday and I was happy to give up a day of riding to spend my day at the hospital after the arrival of our first grandchild, Amelia, at 7 am on Christmas Day :)

Congrats Grandpa! Enjoy.
#6 for Grandma and I on Dec 20.
Well congrats to both of you!!! That must be an amazing feeling, all the cuddles and cuteness without the full time parenting duties:)

Drop bars make it complicated. Operator error, maybe???
Let’s just say everything on the bike was loose and falling off except the rear axle. Went to flip the lever and thread the axle out and shot parts everywhere. Cheap pop metal quality bolt holding the little skewer cam snapped. Nothing a couple beers a drill an easy out and a better quality bolt couldn’t fix but by then John Cavey was here and brought beer.

Sounds like that thing has Yetiitis.

Damn Huffy I shoulda known...:Roflmao
I told you I took it down the stairs!!!

J/K, I didn’t ride it more than in a parking lot at work and just noticed a loose headset from my spin. I didn’t mess with anything, I promise. It sounds like the bike was never tuned up or lubed since it sat around for a year. The Earth’s magnetic field must have made some adverse adjustments to the bike. I hope you get it squared away VooDoo.

It’ll be fine now that everything is tight and not too tight. Ripley axle fits perfectly too, I checked.
