I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Ugh, I think I’m in danger of being kicked off IMTB and having to join a hiking forum.

My wife and I checked out Elysian Park for a hike this morning. Trails are steep single track with some narrow f/r. I mean steep like car wreck or mentally sensitive. No bikes encountered, no bike tracks but there were signs of bike activity- a few kickers built here and there.
Sweet views of DTLA, “Doy-ers estadium,” and the 5 fwy.
We did 5 mi. And topped it off with a bike themed lunch spot-does that count?

Went for a quick lunch sesh planning to hit TECRIL, only to find my Diety Bladerunner non-drive side pedal to fly off the spindle while heading up the small hill outbound on Coyote. Add to it, the continual cavitating Reverb Stealth needing service yet again, and I wasn't happy. Limped back to the car. Got home and called Diety. Offered up a rebuild on the pedals which includes new spindles, pins, bearings, etc. for $35.00. Shipped them off. Then called Bike Co. about the Reverb again, and they suggested the Wolf Tooth Sustain Reverb upgrade.....converts hydraulic to mechanical dropper with new WT lever. Ordered it!!!! Now, if I could find a break between meetings, I could throw my Time pedals back on that never sold, and head back for TECRIL. Mañana perhaps?

Somebody remembered TECRIL! I am flattered...

Sorry you had a bad day. Better luck tomorrow. :)

(The Endless Cholla-Rock-It Loop).

I haven’t ridden since Saturday because I’ve been nothing but lazy and don’t have a better excuse. Now I’m headed to the Big Island for 10 days so won’t be riding there either. Once I get back, I’ll be riding with a vengeance to drop the 10 lbs I’ll probably pack on in Hawaii.

I had grand plans for a ride today - the Kona was all set and I figured I'd skip Black Star or Maple Springs and do my roaddirt up GMR/Monroe/Sunset Ridge. Then, this morning, the wife says, "When are you going to set up the fountain in the back yard? You promised to do that" :bang:

Maybe I can ride tomorrow. I made progress on the fountain today.

I take the cake for weak excuses. Ride every day pretty much all the time. Woke up with a sore, somewhat swollen thumb and I think it is a repetitive use thing from shifting. Another thing in the positive column for single speeds! So I am drinkin' an old fashioned and listening to country music and hoping for a better tomorrow.

You can rent a bike at Bike Works in Kona. You can ride the Ironman course.

I was planning to ride from work this morning but when I woke up, the ground was already soaked and a light rain was falling. Combine that with a very low ceiling (the San Gabes in my area were completely blanketed all the way down to the base) and I decided to postpone the ride and see how things were looking later in the afternoon. As the day progressed, the clouds lifted and the ground dried up. Just as my riding window was opening up, so did the sky, again. Wet and crappy out there again.
