I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Once Jennifer and I got married several people asked if we were going to have kids. It was funny because each time we looked at each other and laughed.
Same. My wife and I were both youngests in our family and had no desire to have kids. Too selfish. Glad we changed our minds. Well at least to this point we are glad. I'll report back in her tween and teen years.

I haven't been on my bike since I turned into a snot and phlegm factory... :gag:
At least the body aches only lasted one day
I was doing so well too, avoiding all the sick people at work. When the wife gets sick, there's no avoiding since sharing is caring

I was busy taking pictures...

I was at Jackson Lake today also. I've ridden up there several times but I have no idea how to link up to Manzanita. Is there a trail map out there?

In the Wrightwood 50, we drop out to the road, curse our own existence for a 3 mile hellish pavement climb, and then turn onto the fireroad at the prison for another hellish climb back to the start of Manzanita. I push my bike for a lot of that. :gag:

I'd love to hit that loop with fresh legs to see if the climb is really that bad... I think the prison is mile 34 in the Wrightwood 50.

We start at the bottom and get the climbing out of the way first. Ending with Manzanita is the way to go. And yes. The climb is really that bad.

Looks a bit breezy...and are we supposed to infer the location?? I'm gonna guess Mammoth.
You’d be right. This is chair 23. Lucked in to about the 10th chair up after they opened the top. It was unreal. Snow was so good and deep I hit some of the double blacks (which is normally out of my league). At one point I lapped 23 four times in a row cause there was no line. Legs were toasted!

Amazing what some pow pow will do for your confidence on the steeps, love chair 23 and the backside. Sounds like you had some good fun, rad!

I miss sliding on snow, only go on trips once a year or so these days... that is until the kids get into lessons. Plan on going back to skiing when my kids start, not gonna try to start them on boards. My boy will be three next season, game on.

Yep, start them young. I have great memories of my 4 year old daughter (1990) headed down the slopes at Big Bear. She loved it.

I'm gonna have to get my grandson a mtb, and a board.

VT's top 10 reasons for not riding today (in no particular order except for the last one)...

It was too cold this morning(39° at 9:00am)

It felt good to sleep in(I’m an insomniac and more than 3-4 hrs is a treat)

Still muddy around here(and probably will be for a while)

I rode yesterday(and it was a good ride)

Rusty wanted to go for a walk instead(no really his ass was draggin)

My bike(s) was too clean(don’t hate they look good)

Weather was too damn nice this afternoon(seriously I don’t know what to do if it’s not windy or cold or blazing hot or…)

Had to do some grilling this afternoon(It’s Sunday that’s what I do)

Beers be going down like water(I say this like it’s a good thing)

Call to the wifey's 95 year old grandmother back in Ohio brought me to tears. Grandma is moving a little slower but she is such an inspiration with her positive outlook on life. The rest of the reasons really don’t matter cuzz Mama is kicking azz…

As long as they're good beers.....and yeah, the old people keeping on is da shizzle. I still can't get my mind around my 80 year old mom traveling around the world. She's filled up 2 passport books already. I think the list of where she hasn't been is shorter than the list of where she has been.

Yep just puts things in perspective and reminds you not to sweat the small sh!t...
