Hellacious Ride 2018

Hey all,

We have some new sponsors this year so raffle is looking as good as ever! Buying raffle tickets does help us tremendously, and if you're helping us you're helping the mountain biking community.

Redlands Cyclery was out this past weekend doing trailwork from Southfork to Glass Road and we're working with some people this next weekend to clean up some of the lower sections. More rain would be the biggest help, but nothing in the forecast right now. Anyone interested in helping this Saturday or Sunday (13th and 14th) with trailwork can contact me here or find our post on Facebook.

The Big Bear ride some of you are doing is actually similar to the Original Hell Ride route. A number of Big Bear locals do that route also, although it's much easier for them to get an early start.

I didn't see anything on the event website. How are you handling ebikes? I know SBNF doesn't allow them on non-motorized trails.....which SART is non-motorized.

I’m planning to be up there; when the Mrs. permits an entire day, I’ll take it! If The Dante (non-iMTBtrails member) can make it, we’ll be doing our own route, but if I end up alone (the problem is with everyone else, not me!!), then I will submit my PTO application with the Jzilla entourage ASAP. Also, I have a message out to a few chicken nuggets to see about a ride-along, but I can make my own way up there if necessary.

With great sadness i write this reply... i cannot make this ride after all. :cry:

i bought a home and the day we got keys this past Monday we noticed water under the living room floor. Sourced the leak to 2 spots... one is the refrigerator water line and the other were the 2 water spigots in the laundry room. The movers must have not cared enough to realize the water dripping out was more than a little residual water in the lines when they disconnected the appliances.

Needless to say this has been a nightmare. We have had the water mitigation team out there since Monday and plumber came Tuesday to fix water leaks. Its amazing how much water damage happened by a slow drip over a weeks time.

This has pushed my move from Oct 20th to the 27th :cry: That is the super bummer part... the house damage will get fixed but ride memories are the priority :rolleyes:

My fiance says go ahead and go on the ride... but i cannot do that to her even though we have movers. that just wouldn't be right imo. There is still so much to be done on move day even with movers.

Hope this doesn't cause any issues with shuttling and logistics. Sorry for the late update but i just have to pull the plug on my attendance.

See, I think that going on the ride would set a great precedent for your relationship. Really let everyone know where the priorities are, so there wouldn't be further confusion and arguments!

Sorry to hear this though... sounds like such a huge hassle for such a big think like getting a new home.
