Happy Bikesgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving iMtb'ers!!

A great day it is. Today will be spent with my side of the family, so will be driving in this rain for some time, but it's an adventure for sure. Haven't seen many of them for months or more so really looking forward to it.

Tomorrow, I'l be cooking at home for the wife's side of the family. Cooking the Turkey and all the rest should be fun!

My plans a couple weeks ago were to ride this morning and tomorrow morning, but that's out. So some yoga to prep the day and I'm good to go! On a side note, the yoga seems to be helping with the torn rotator cuff stretching. But damn does it hurt....no pain no gain :)

Have an awesome day everyone!!

And @buggravy I too lost someone just before Thanksgiving 5 years ago. It truly makes me appreciate every day I have and those I love.
Aha, finally a smart one in the bunch! Yoga for rehab FTW!!!

Great post. Happy Thanksgiving @herzalot and all the the imtbtrails family. Thanksgiving has long been my favorite holiday for the reasons stated above. We have a long standing tradition of visiting my little bro in the burbs of New Orleans for a Cajun style Thanksgiving, followed by what we call Red Friday, where the boys (my Dad, brother, and more recently my nephew) go out into the marsh and flyfish for Bull Redfish. This year little bro's family is going through some turmoil, and we're taking a one year (hopefully) hiatus, and I'm in CO visiting my wife's sister and her family. Driving over Vail pass, seeing snow, and people snowboarding and skiing at Copper and Vail was bittersweet. But my wife lost her mom to cancer on Thanksgiving day 5 years ago, and this is the first time she has been with her sister on this day since. I can see that this is very healing for them, and it's obvious that this is absolutely where we are supposed to be this year. Also got news this morning that a friend and coworker is nearing the end of his second protracted battle with cancer, and won't be physically with us much longer. All said, lots of sobering information coming at me offering good perspective on just how good I have it, and how much I have to be thankful for. We're probably in for a pretty adventurous drive on Saturday making our way over Vail and Loveland passes to the Denver airport, but I actually look forward to that.
Enjoy Matt! You have an amazing attitude toward life and it’s ups and downs!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Thankful for the friendships formed because of this site.
We are spending today with my cousins in Covina. It was an adventure driving down here in the pouring rain and the three accidents we passed along the way. Just your typical hydroplane spun out cars.
Careful out there if you gotta drive

Not sure why I haven’t shared this before, but my step dad created this bike maybe 12yrs ago. We’ve had this piece for years and have even had a few offers on it, no way would I part with it tho:inlove:

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you... :inlove:

Easy day for us... Both kids are home, the wife will do some cooking, and the relatives are all 3000 miles away. :inlove::ninja::laugh:

@Danimal - You're finally making some progress with the shoulder?

Great day with the family. Driving was a little sketchy with the rain, but came and went safe and sound.

And @Faust29 it's a slow progress, but more range of motion and less pain slowly but surely! Just have to work on it. The yoga seems to help more than anything, but need to adjust a lot of positions to be safe.

It's the start of the holiday season and I wanted to just say how much I love and appreciate you guys, and this place...

It never ceases to amaze me how you guys make me laugh, make me think, grow, and inspire me. Sometimes we disagree (mostly on politics :cautious::p) but we always get through it.
I would certainly not be the rider I am today without you guys, I certainly know I'm a better person because of you all.

May your singletrack never end and the climbs get faster (never easier).

Happy Bikesgiving imtbtrails!
Mountain Bikes saved my life, and you guys make life worth living.

Single Speed Turkey... For the Win! :p

I did the unthinkable, My family and I went on a hike. I carried my grandchild on my shoulders when she tired out. They do not ride bikes. We had the annual Turkey Trot today as well, although it was unofficial since it like all life in Cowifornica was canceled because of the flu. A bunch were out, civil disobedience at its best. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Please remember to follow Newscum's rules, eat with your mask, sit at least 6 feet apart and only entertain those whom are in your circle.

Happy Thanksgiving all. I’m thankful I was introduced to this crazy MTB hobby(?)

It has enhanced my relationship with my son who got me on the bike and has shared adventures with me.

It has taken me to places I would have never been and I have seen sights I never would have seen.

I’ve met lots of good people and some will be lifelong friends. Almost all I have met are solid good folks.

It has has given me some fitness after years of not being very active.

It has lead me to this board that gives me a place to share experiences and associations with you crazy lot.

Thank you Mikie for imtbtrails and your friendship.

All the best to all you fellow imtbtrailers:):thumbsup:

Remember to give thanks for what we have and forget the other stuff.

This year I am profoundly grateful for the fact that I am not in the throws of recovery from an injury at Thanksgiving for the first time in 3 years (knock on wood). This year has been incredibly stressful for me on a lot of levels, yet I've never found myself truly down in the dumps. I credit mountain biking for much of that, and I credit IMTB for really turbo charging my MTB experience. Super grateful for this little corner of the interwebs. Happy Thanksgiving to all my IMTB homies and homettes!

THANKSGIVING 2021
Another crazy year! Regardless of the challenges, here here, to another year with Hooligan friends on imtbtrails. This marks the eighth Thanksgiving some of you have had here.

Regardless of the world, regardless of even our local communities, we have persevered to do our best to keep imtbtrails a neutral and safe haven for Mountain Biking. Didn’t say it has been easy, but we do all we can to work through it, to forgive and forget, move on and keep the rubber side down and pedal to the metal.

Thanks to all of you that are my friends, that have encouraged me, chastised me when I needed it and looked past my short comings, and supported this community both spiritually and financially. I often wonder what my cycling life would be without imtbtrails (well… other than I would be much more richer!).
I know for sure my world would be a whole lot smaller and I also know for a fact many of you I would have never met… I’m so thankful that is not the case.

Happy Thanksgiving all. Be safe, travel safe, be smart, be with loved ones. Eat tons of really bad food for you, then go out and burn it off on your bike(s) together. Fight through the tryptophan… the struggle is real!

;)Mikie

Oh! This morning I searched and merged as many of the Thanksgiving wishes into one thread. One additional thing I wish, is that all those who were here in the past were here today… :(:)
