Hair cuts, beard trims, manicures, pedicures, botox injections, etc. How r u coping?

I've been shaving my head for years now with anywhere from no guard to a 4. Combo of thinning and not wanting to deal with it. If I still had the same hair I had as a kid, I'd prob just let it grow. I did convince my wife to let me cut my oldest's hair and it actually came out pretty good. My 3 year old...that's right up there with trying to give the cat a bath, so he's just gonna have long hair for now I guess.

Wife and I trimmed each others hair last week and it came out fine. She has long hair it was easy just a trim and mine is now long enough to just cut all same length at neck. Gonna grow it longer again so can easily trim at home I’m tired of spending money on often-crappy haircuts.

Every now and then I'll just go somewhere when I feel like getting trimmed up and it sucks paying $20 for 2 minutes worth of work with some clippers.

There is a place in Laguna Hills open for anyone who needs a trim ...

Hey! This is my old barber shop!! I highly recommend this place. The owner, Rick, used to live in Silverado Canyon. He is a long-time motorcyclist (and looks it) but he just recently sold his last Harley due to concerns of riding in SoCal (people and distracted driving in their cars). Too many of his friends killed or injured on their bikes. He is very familiar with the CNF trails, and loves talking about MTB.

Though I used to go to Rick, the other barbers there are also good. One of the guys gives you a free beer if you ask :) It's an old-skool barber shop with a cool retro vibe, but doesn't look old or tired. Rick remodeled the entire store about a year ago.

I haven't gone to a barber though since we moved to North Carolina. I used to cut my own hair when I was in the Army, so I just went to clippers. The key to trimming your neck is to use the index finger on one hand as a guide, shave to your finger, and then switch sides. With a little practice you can give yourself a perfect (albeit short) cut.

I ordered some clippers and let my wife take a shot at giving me a haircut last night. Other than one mishap, she did a pretty good job. Good thing that I really don’t care too much about how my hair looks. Looks like I’ll be saving $30 a month from here on.
Took me a few tries. She'll get the hang of it. Some quick math shows I've saved upwards of $6k over the last 25 years cutting my own hair.

Wow, that’s some perspective!

Power to you guys for taking back personal care. Let freedom ring. Like Ed and some of ya, to me the idea of paying for a haircut sounds about as odd as paying to have someone cut my fingernails.

If you got a job pressing flesh with clients or otherwise making appearances you get a pass. Now go pick up your dry cleaning.

It's hair. Worst case you cut it shorter and it grows back. Well, for some of us :whistling:

Hey now, I resemble that remark. At least dry cleaners are essential. I would cry if I had to press all my own uniforms.
