Hair cuts, beard trims, manicures, pedicures, botox injections, etc. How r u coping?

What do you guys pay for a cut and how often do you usually go?

I know a hairdresser who owns the salon we go to and I am pretty sure that she is giving us a deal. I usually go every 3 weeks, sometimes 4 weeks and it's $17/cut for me and she does excellent work, too. I tip her well and she's a blast to mess with because she is foul mouthed like a dude. She's a as dedicated to long hikes out in the remote areas as we are to riding so we chat about places I've ridden and she's hiked. She's a cool gal.
I didn’t so much mind the cost of haircuts, but the whole appointment thing and dependency, yes. It’s like making an appointment to take a dump. Too much fanfare for an easy job that never produces any real beauty, and you get to try again soon if the job is not satisfactory.

That's pretty damn cheap. My barber is $25, also every 3-4 weeks. About once a year I get tired of the process and I clipper shave my head, and that lasts for several months. But the wife doesn't like the shaved head and says it ages me 5-10 years (she's not wrong) so I grow it back out, probably a whole inch up top.

I trim my facial hair every couple of weeks, when it gets annoying. But only down to the 5 o'clock shadow area. Too lazy to clean shave it.

Hair cut? I did that once a few years ago. Anytime I don't work somewhere that mandates short hair, I grow it.

You can have a beard with a doctor's note. Makes no sense to me but?
Happens occasionally in the military. Some people have really bad skin reactions to shaving, so they got a "no shave chit", basically a doctors note.

However, you still had to keep it short. I only ever saw a handful of black guys get one. But I also witnessed one of the black guys in my boot camp company have a bad skin reaction to the mandated shaving, he looked like hell for 8 weeks, even after our Company Commander brought him an electric razor to help.

(not intended to be racial, I just don't remember ever seeing anyone non black have facial skin issues. But did witness it with a black dude.)

Damn, are you guys going out of state for haircuts?

Sadly, I can't shave my head because I look like a cholo. I always go to a barber that works out of a salon in my office building but the prices you guys are throwing-up are having me rethink the convenience cost.

I always thought the "barber" designation kept costs down. Or maybe it's just my cut. Bald fade to a #6 guard clipper cut up top. No more than 30 minutes.

Good prices guys. I pay $25 plus tip every 3-4 weeks. Been with the same stylish for about a year now. I change when they stop doing a good job. Which happens after a couple years.

And my hair type doesn't do well with clippers.....

I'm working a mustache for the first time since the 80s since I don't see anyone lately but the wife, and she likes it. :whistling:

I’m sure it’s not the shaved head but the bandana worn down low on the brow that makes you look like a cholo ;)

I spend $25 every two weeks for a barbershop haircut. Same guy has cut my hair for the better part of 20 years. In the beginning it was $10 for a cut.
I can’t go more than three weeks without a cut because my hair starts to resemble chaparral.
Bad news for my barber though, I’m getting pretty good at using the Wahl clippers that I picked up on a whim a while back. Was using the clippers for beard trimming. Now I’m using all the comb attachments for a DYI fade hairstyle :)

I need to get my hair cut basically every 3 weeks, but usually go to 4. I was due a week or so before this pandemic hit.
I like to keep it short, but won't shave my head cuz I'm too white and my head has too many dents on it - ha.
Now it's getting too ratty and we need to get passport photos done soon.
My wife offered to cut my hair with the clippers in the garage. I shot her a look and she said, "No, I have ones besides the goat ones"
I might have to take her up on it soon.
Oh, the horror.
