Extreme heat/hydro brakes

Well... I did tell them I wasn’t too sure about swapping over to the Deore line. I left a message asking if an XT upgrade was possible. I may just end up with new SRAM TL’s after all.
Tell yah what. If they give you SRAM and you are still not happy, down the road, you buy the XT's, I will come down to a trail near you and I will swap them out for you. I'll bring all the tools. :)
Then we will go ride bikes like we stole them!

Hey fellas, my LBS just called me back again. They’re saying that they will “upgrade” my brake system the Shimano Deore and they can do it today. Is the Shimano Deore line in fact an upgrade from the SRAM Level TL’s?
that is the "aggravation" I was talking about......

Another aggravation I had to deal with lately is the fact I couldn't order an "ultimate" hose adapter to the SRAM basic bleed kit.
I guess the POS SRAM kit that I have is not good enough to work on the high-end SRAM calipers.

I just went through that.....I bought that adapter only to find that it didn't work with my older Avid Bleed Kit. So I ordered up the Pro Kit. Considering I have Guides on the HT, Suz has SRAM Hydro's on her CX bike, and I may put Codes on the Tandem. Plus a few of the other bikes I service have SRAM brakes....so it made sense. Plus the syringes on the Pro Kit are pretty dang nice.

:whistling: Shimano XT Ice Tech Brakes..... just sayin' .........

Okay. The final word is.... my LBS agreed to cover the upgrade from my SRAM Level TL’s to the Shimano XT M8000

Unfortunately, they don’t have the XT’s in stock, so they’re ordering them today. Should have them in and installed by the weekend (fingers crossed).

Very cool...

I like my SRAM brakes (when they work), but the Shimanos are so much nicer in terms of maintenance, pad selection, lack of turkey warble, etc...

That is a good move by your shop in making you happy...

That is great news and an awesome LBS. Don't be shy, post up the name of the shop and give em kudos when the work is done and you're stoked beyond belief with how good your XT brakes are.

Full disclosure - I had to exchange the set of XT M8000s that came on my Tracer. This was the model year when they first came out - 2015 I believe. Shimano HQ (in Irvine) replaced them in one day. Haven't had a problem with the new set going on three years now.

Never had a problem with the XTR Trails I owned for four years prior to the XTs.

I wasn’t able to get much riding in last night, but I did go through a pad break-in process and a couple trips around the block. Even with that small amount of time on the saddle, I was able to notice a major difference in preformance with these XT’s. Super stoked!
Yes!
Then I am stoked for you!
Happy for you Dave....

Prefromance Cyclery in Valencia is the shop that sold me the Camber, my S-Works and my Cannondale HT (which was stolen about 5 years ago). They’ve always been good to me. They have tha Ice rotors there 180/160!
That's awesome. Performance Cyclery is a nice shop and they have a few very knowledgeable and helpful folks on staff. One of em is even a member here.
