So, do I pull my order from the Path? Probably bad form ... but I will talk with the boys and girls there and let them know that they perhaps have just built me my last bike...
Guys!
Lets not rehash this.
Dusty I get your feelings about eBike users. Let keep ourselves a class act and not attack people. I'm gonna close these threads if we can't stay civil fellers.
That's why I said "perhaps."Boycotting small local businesses is stupid. Cracking down on e-bike enforcement is useful
The problem is they're a Giant dealer, which means they sell Giant bikes. All Giant bikes. I'm pretty sure they don't have much choice under their agreement with Giant.
I saw two ethings at Path LO. The guys there told me they are not actually selling them (the ones I saw), but that they assemble them for customers who bought them elsewhere. So, do I pull my order from the Path? Probably bad form ... but I will talk with the boys and girls there and let them know that they perhaps have just built me my last bike...
Hope this helps.
Haven't we already beaten this horse sufficiently??? And, methinks @Neal may be an instigator.
Let the OC Parks system know your safety concerns with the use of ebikes on our local trails. (i.e. Peters Canyon)
If it's brought to their attention for safety, they will recognize your petition. The end result will be less availability of trails to ride, thus less of a market demand.
I have sent correspondence to the OC Parks rangers and David Whiting of the OC Register. David is an avid outdoors-man and recognizes the issues ebikes can pose on the trail.
Soooooooo.....did we scare Neal away?
maybe it would behoove them to find another Forum that is "pro eBikes" to discuss that subject on.
The last thing I want to do is squash free speech, however common sense needs to prevail.
The majority of members here are not pro eBike. If that offends anyone then maybe it would behoove them to find another Forum that is "pro eBikes" to discuss that subject on. Then jump back over here to talk about mountain bikes.
I can tell you that I have made the decision that if folks want to argue over eBikes and it happened here again, I'm going to delete the Threads.
We did our best to discuss them, it did not make any movement on either side. Case closed.
If folks want to keep driving the issue then they too will be deleted. It's not worth the disruption to the community.
We have too many things going "right" here to ruin it now...

This could back fire on us big time.
When Kitesurfing was new (2002) windsurfers tried to protect "their turf", and complained about the safety of Kites to the guys who run Bolsa Chica state beach.
The end result was a total ban of Kitesurfing and Windsurfing from that beach.
Ya'll better get in some more saddle time, rather behind-the-saddle-time, before you venture out to deez parts. Oh, and the air typically sucks out here too.Inland Empire Bike Trails????
Did you know that a new e-bike is in development that uses Tesla's self-driving technology? The theory is that you will be able to go for a bike ride without getting out of bed.

Inland Empire Bike Trails????
O.M.G!!!!! I love those!Better! Click the link... It's worth it!
I don't think he was real. He was just a poorly disguised Internet troll who found this site while doing searches on his next e-bike purchase, and decided to come troll the forums. For all I know, he could have a financial stake in selling e-bikes somewhere, and is cutting and pasting the same legaleze on any critical speech he finds out there - so that anyone who comes to this site to read about e-bikes sees his comment. Note I am not attacking the PERSON - just the idea.
It's like going to a PETA forum and posting that it is legal for SeaWorld to keep orcas in captivity. Sure it might be true, but it isn't going to win you a lot of Internet friends
