Some day (I firmly believe this...maybe I'm an idiot) humans will learn that there really is but one race. This idea that there are races among humans is a social construct that simply must be discredited. The only thing that matters is that you act in a civilized manner. If you do not, there may be unfortunate consequences. The color of your skin does not matter one whit. Only those who refuse to grow up believe there is a difference.

Anyone who seeks to divide humanity into pieces according to color or place is worthy of nothing more than derision and rejection.

^^^+++ Thing I get a kick out of is situations where the individual is darker or lighter than me. How the hell do you tell who's who or what's what? Why I say "All Lives Matter (and that - to me- includes the unborn)".

I’m doing my best to keep my mouth shut and not respond to the edging closer to political rhetoric being posted here.
We made an agreement, so let’s keep that agreement and focus on what the forum is for.
Bicycles.

I like bikes...i like mountain bike best...i like riding mountain bikes betterer...

And I really hope this fall finds some peace for us all in the strange new pandemic induced normal we find ourselves in. If it's better I'll ride my bike...if it still sucks I'll ride it more..
'Cause I like mountain bikes.

So, I stand corrected.
Didnt read the fine print:

-Politics
-Religion
-Race or Nationality if it is demeaning or negative in anyway.
Note: Discussion related to eBikes, Electric Bikes, motorized bicycles is not preferred and is at the discretion of the Moderator.

Sorry to have offended anyone wth my pressentation of facts.
Over and out.

I'll survive, but I might need a safe space and a puppy.:p

On the Covid front.... the last few days the stress level is going up a notch every day.

more and more people are getting infected around me. It is coming from all directions. Work, friends, neighbors, etc.

I don’t want to isolate/quarantine my self and my family, but the alternative is oblivious to me.

sometimes being oblivious to the BS around me might be the ultimate solution.

Bad news: it’s getting closer to me at work, another coworker out quarantining.

good news: the vaccine trials start in less than 2 weeks. They already have >60,000 volunteers for only 30,000 test spots. They’re looking for more volunteers, as not everyone who signs up is a good fit.

3 people (that I know of, it is a secret society) at my workplace have been sick and positive.
~30 were given the 14 days off.
2 were in my department, I didn't make the contact list and got to be one of the 12 out of 30 there. Tough couple of weeks with no slowdown in production.

Really hit me hard at the end of last week, old friend died in Sacramento. Mid 40's, military, heart attack at home living alone. Covid positive at post mortem.

That all sounds terrible.

Sorry to hear that, Jim...

Sad to hear, and hopefully not a harbinger since it's very close to me now too although the three who are positive are all recovering. So strange how it influences seemingly similar individuals, two barely noticed they were "sick" and were tested because they had been exposed to the third who was extremely ill for more than two weeks. Also, the Path has been closed for several days with no word about reopening AFAIK.

15,000 people will be getting a vaccine shot this week, another 15k will get a saline shot.

OC’s numbers look like we've crested a wave, Kern Co looks scary right now.

Been getting updates from my sister in law, a nurse practitioner in the Rio Grande Valley. She is working six 12-hour shifts a week in a Covid ward. As of yesterday she had 6 deaths in her area of responsibility in just the last few days. People coming in with oxygen levels at 80%, and showing signs of multiple heart attacks.

oh, and the hurricane took out the power at her own house...

Truly awful. Prayers for your sister in law. For her physical AND emotional health.

Your sis-in-law is one of our heroes.
