OT doesn't count towards my pension, nor does regular time - don't get a pension.
OT doesn't count towards my pay either, normal salaried employee having to save my own 401(k).

More Closures.......

The Professor rode out there today. Said there were signs in the SJT parking lot. He didn't read them very closely. Said there was only 1 other vehicle there. Upon his return, another vehicle was unloading. As they began to drive out, CNF LEO Ranger drove in and stopped to talk with the other riders.

The last line in that notice "All Trails/Picnic Areas Where An Adventure Pass Is Required".
Technically you need one at the SJT parking lot, even though we don't follow that requirement.

I forget, is one required at that little dirt lot at top of sj? Is it possible to park at turnouts along long canyon road?

Kinda weird how they said all “trails” not “trailheads” where a pass is required, and they don’t say passive bike or hike through access is permitted. So is access to top of sj legal if park in that dirt lot or (since it WILL be full) somewhere along the side of long canyon road?

We are ahead of our time! We were arguing this question on the site a week ago!!

How do you choose between saving the economy and saving lives?

George Loewenstein, professor of economics and psychology at Carnegie Mellon University, said it’s not as simple as making a choice between the human lives of Americans and the long-term health of the American economy. “I think it might be a false dichotomy because we don’t have a very good understanding of what the impact of a severe [economic] depression would be on human life,” he said. “It will dramatically decrease the quality of human life, and it will certainly kill people as well.”

I interpret it to mean that the trails themselves are now closed- no matter how you get there.

Exception that does not require a forest pass? Up Cadillac to STT and up Joplin! Who's in?

Ding Dong?

That is a little strange it mentions trails. My understanding is that only recreation sites like picnic areas, campgrounds, etc are closed. Technically places where adventure passes are needed are supposed to have specific amenities like picnic tables, bathrooms, etc which makes them a rec site which is the target of the order. While those sites are closed any trails accessed from them are open, you would just have to ride or hike in from elsewhere.

This link is a notice from today, note the highlighted part: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/cleveland/news-events/?cid=FSEPRD716563

They seem to just want to eliminate access to spots that could cause a lot of people to congregate. Hopefully the closures don't progress further to include trails.
