Chicken Nuggets in da Sauce_2023

I thought we were following Mkkies suggestion if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all!
I thought it was witty since you introduced the concept, and those rides were a lot of fun! I bonked today and had to HAB through part of the wash such that I skipped Buena Vista and bailed on Art Johnson. I figure HABing the Wash would have warranted the panties in 2015, so I tried to flip the script here, considering how I was feeling physically drained as multiple e-bikers wizzed past me in the sand. I think I have ridden maybe 200 miles of MTB in 2023 and I paid the price today. I also think you are a terrific man and have been nothing but good to me, but in my heart and soul I don’t like the proliferation of e-bikes on trails and worry about the future of the industry for cyclists. Instead of on singletrack, I envision e-bikes parked at office campuses and grocery stores and in line at fast food drive-throughs, etc. We’re wasting valuable raw materials on recreation activities we don’t want to compromise while important opportunities are deferred or ignored. I still think you’re swell, but I’d also like to envision you in some lingerie once in a while. I’m razzing ebikers because e-MTB bothers me. That’s how it makes me feel, and I worry for the future.

I dropped off here because I have a hard time saying nice things about ebikes. But since then I rented one, and came to the conclusion that…absolutely under no circumstances should they be equated with pedal bikes. Great fun zipping around London on a sunny day though.

Anyway I had a @mtnbikej sighting today and came here to check in. Oof da.

At the risk of veering into politics, it is very difficult to build an institution, and increasingly easy to tear one down. Props to Mikie for sticking with this for so long.

Saw the Strava ... looked like a fun ride.
It was three friends riding bicycles. For me, it was an experience. I realize I don’t ride enough even for a Palm Canyon shuttle. The DHs were fun but exhausting trying to keep pace. All the climbing was unpleasant. It was the first time I ever had to cut that ride short not due to a mechanical catastrophe. Today I feel spent but determined to get back in shape. One last take away is that from top to bottom, Palm Canyon feels more chunky than ever, and the last bit of Art Johnson is actually gnar.

Sounds like the ride was a resounding success – no one died, etc. The only down side to the AJ finish is the street riding back to Von's. Good save. The best thing, though, is getting a reality check that leads to positive change. Being one of the most motivated riders I've known, I look forward to hearing about your approach and results. Here's to fighting gravity and everything else you do.
