Bike part disappointment....

My only regret for bike parts has been Crank Bros pedals...constantly breaking springs but the final straw was when the pedal pulled off the spindle mid ride...They were always great for support in their defense...but just got tired of the mid ride issues.
Am I the only one that’s never had an issue with crank brothers. I run them on all my bikes for over 10 years now without issues.

Same here. I have at least five sets of tires with 1-2 rides on them. I will use them eventually though.
Don't forget that tires (car/bike) have an optimal use lifespan. The first three years after a tire is made are it's best. After that, the rubber begins to harden. So, you'd better getting rolling, like right now, if you've got some tires in storage waiting to be used. We don't want them to "expire" on you.

Yes.

:p

I think 8 months was the max I got out of a pair of Egg Beaters. And every time I took them back to Crank Brothers in Laguna, they would act like it was the first pair that ever broke. I played along, and they kept handing me new ones. They are all in a coffee can in the garage now. It's no fun pedaling off the mountain in the dark with one pedal.

Sacrificing durability for light weight and flashy design is frowned upon...

For me its the high engagement hubs. Currently running 54T DT swiss for 6.6d engagment. I’m not hucking from standstill, and i cant do techy stuff that requiremes me to track stand, so i dont notice the immediateness. Maybe i gotta go to i9s or onyx, but mehhh.

Nor do most people......but they associate high engagement hubs with high end hubs, so they think they go hand in hand.

I notice it in tech and racing. But normal riding, nope. I just rebuilt some old wheels with older low engagement hubs as it doesn't matter much.
