Advice on purchasing bike

I received this in the mail the other day as a refund from escrow. I have no idea what to do with it.

Anybody have any ideas?

Imtb gathering at Mastros Ocean Club.

Contribute to your daughter’s 529 or open one.

Oh, I know I know.. new bike!

Mastros IMTB Gathering? - There's one at Crystal Cove. We could ride right to it! Aliso, LCWP, Mastros! Better than a hot dog on the tailgate, right? Unfortunately, that amount of money might only cover about 15 of us.

Daughter's 529? C'mon, that's not how we do college around here. She will qualify for a "rowing" scholarship! ;) She'll be the first 6'0" Coxswain on USC's team!

New bike? Hmmmmm, hadn't thought of that. How much does a good mt. bike without carbon wheels cost? Wait - how did this post end up in this thread?

Out of the blue or did you know it was coming?
Out of the blue. I'm guessing this is why....

Many mortgage lenders hold money in escrow to pay property taxes and insurance. Each month, you pay a portion of the estimated annual costs along with your principal and interest. At the end of the year, the lender adjusts your monthly escrow amount based on the actual tax and insurance bills.

Nice. At least it's not a Nigerian check cashing scam.

I got an escrow bill...they must have made a mistake....could you talk to them for me?

But in all honesty I personally would put it in savings or toward an IRA after frivolously spending a couple hundred on something I want ( or more likely the wife wants) and do not need. But hey, that's me...

@herzalot don't listen to these guys instead buy 3 lightly used bikes.that someone else spent boatloads of money on..:Roflmao

You could get a nice hardtail for the death marches with your OC brothers...:gag:

A nice 120-140 trail bike like a Ripley or Hightower (all the cool kids ride em)...

And a chunk eating big bike that'll make you appreciate the trail bike even more...

Or just limit it to 2 bikes, a shiny new Trailcraft for your daughter and a b!tchen bike of your choice.
