Great reading before the ride. I will be carrying my brush and lube. Thanks for the info! Only planning 50... I was never peppy after 50 in previous years. Personally don't enjoy too much pain from a ride. I like fun ride.

Unless you have the transponder, you have to pay later, or get a ticket. One way or another they get your money to drive 'em .

But I recommend taking El Toro or Alicia of you don't wanna pay.

The 10 miler is usually an out and back headed south... Down and up the Arroyo. Probably easier to just walk most of that section.

The 241 is the toll road... If you don't want to pay the toll, I'd get off the 5 on Alicia. Take Alicia to Santa Margarita Parkway (where Alicia deadends). Turn right onto Santa Margarita Parkway... Go for maybe 1/2 mile, and turn right onto Avenida Empresa (first big intersection). The event is down a couple blocks on the right.
