2019 Kokopelli Epic Adventure

I can’t believe I pulled it off.....
The flight was delivered, and I didn’t got internet access until 5 minutes after the regulation opened.
It took me another 10 minutes to finish the process on my phone, but the stress paid off.

Last time we rented a hotel room in Fruita for wednesday night, quick breakfast in town and a short drive to the trailhead.
Saturday night we slept in a cabin at the Moab Valley RV resort which is exactly at the end of the ride. They had food for us there too.

Then Sunday morning we self shuttled back to Fruita early to get the van and head home. Saved us several hours.

Plan:
Drive to Moab on Wednesday and stay the night. Load up in the morning in the Dodge and Mrs. imtbtrails shuttles us to Fruita on Thursday. We ride Thursday and Friday and Saturday finishing in Moab Saturday afternoon. Stay at the Moab RV Park that night. For those who did NOT shuttle with Mrs. imtbtrails, your vehicle is still at the trailhead in Fruita. You get shuttled by bus (your bike in a Penske Van with 95 other bikes) back to Fruita after breakfast on Sunday morning. For those who DID shuttle with Mrs. imtbtrails, your vehicle is in Moab still and you load and go home. Or ride in St. George... ;)

Our last nite is in a private campground in Moab with showers, awards, games, soda machine & a big BBQ-style cookout. The last nite is a lot of fun with our legendary bike games pitting your skills against our tequila! They also have cabins available if you’d like to book one – this is a popular option with some return riders. It’s not needed, plenty of tent space available but some like the privacy of a separate cabin that last nite & are willing to spend a few bucks for it. If interested in one of the cabins we’ll have an update with details coming very soon. We’re vacillating between two different campgrounds for that nite & should finalize in a few days.

That would make me very mad as I have booked a Cabin and the place we stay at now is awesome and right at the end of the ride. I'll contact Alex and threaten his life...

Yes. We have always just stayed at the Moab RV Park on Wednesday night, but have picked up folks at other sites. It's nice to meet and load at one location. :-)

Okay, their website is weird. So I just got off the phone with Kathy, who confirmed the Bikerpelli group will be there. Here's the scoop, they are setting aside some of the standard basic cabins for the group for an additional fee. Additionally, they are trying to seek a waiver for the one night minimum for the deluxe cabins. I had her pencil me in for a basic cabin for now (on the 8th & 11th) and she will call me back about whether the owner will allow for a 1 night stay in the deluxe cabins for the Bikerpelli group.

Does this sound about right from the veterans who've done this before?

That sounds about right. A lot of guys will just sleep in the tent area on Wednesday night then throw their stuff in their parked car until we get back on Saturday night then take on a reserved cabin.
 
Sold out and everyone who said they were going is going.
I have an unofficial count now of 12 going. Some to be announced when they are ready to announce, to include Team imtbFlorida!
I'm close to celebrating my 60th Birthday on this ride. (Never thought I would ever say THAT!)
