I Rode My Bike Today...

Well every days a school day! Didn't realize scofflaw translated to little bitch over here. :giggle::whistling:

If you want to try again @Obsidian let me know. I'm happy to lead out

Wait, what?? How am I "a little bitch?" Feel free to expound.

No, I did not ride the wrong way down Borrego. ... which is the absolute Sh!t side of Whiting.

I will give both you and broken down old man @herzalot and his hanging twat a pass ... as I can actually see how you got there. My post was poorly written and possibly confusing. For gaywads, anyway.

Yesterday was another ripper with the fast kids. Hidden Treasure/Triple Threat/Colossus/Hidden Meadows/Falling Star, to name a few.
Revel Ranger, Yeti ASR, Specialized Epic.
33.6 miles
4,334 feet
9.2 mph avg

On a different note, despite testing COVID positive Friday, I rode my bike today. It felt great. So that's two rides in two weeks. Watch out boys, I'll be kicking your asses in no time. At this rate - by about 2037.

Short Aliso loop. Cheater Cholla (neighborhood climb), Lynx, Mathis to ToW, Meadows and return via Coyote. That's all I had in me, and it took 2.5 hours to do. Probably the most cautiously I've ridden Lynx in my life. Still fun though.

12.2 m; 1770' Bikeses be funsies!

Sorry man, I failed at reading your backwards trip correctly. I vaguely remembered you saying in the past you go up Whiting so that and mentioning Borrego after the Luge had me arriving at the incorrect conclusion.
I've only ever seen one person ride down Borrego and I called him a bitch, cos thats a bullshit move there any day of the week.

I rode back "down" Borrego when Mustard was too muddy to ride or walk. I guess I'm a little bitch too!

Yeah, just to be clear, I did not ride the wrong way on Borrego. I did not mention it until the end of my report, so that might have made it look that way. I don't even like Borrego in the proper direction.
I find Borrego quite nice when the sand is rideable and there are no people. That doesn't happen often, but it was that way last time i rode there a couple of weeks ago. It's not "fun" per se, but it's pleasant. Unfortunately, it also means a trek up Mustard.

What a photo!

I was Just Riding Along... POOF! forest on fire. I think I scared up a critter, and it stirred some dust, hence sunbeams. This happened immediately after passing Ackerson Meadow, full of cows, 1000s, each one with a cowbell. More Cowbell than can be grokked by mere mortals. Sounded like a badly damaged cosmic wind chime.

My transition to thinking in meters is nearly complete. Celsius needs some work. Pathology labs use mm. Car manufacturers use mm. Bike parts are nearly all mm now, too. Wave of the future! :P

Waves are head high, chest high, double overhead, etc. :whistling:

Must admit It is refreshing to see someone recognising the international system for measuring things for once.

I don't mind using feet because it makes the climbs seem more impressive. ;)
Absolutely refuse to use Fahrenheit.

Don't get me started on your bloody backwards date format :bang::facepalm:

Sorry, but there will never be a 736.6 mm wheel. Or a 698.5 mm. Or a 660.4.

No matter what ETRTO tries to say about it.

Fahrenheit just makes sense. Kelvin and Centigrade (Celsius) do not.

As someone said once: Fahrenheit is for people. Celsius is for water (distilled, wth no minerals or other impurities at sea level pressure - in other words lab conditions, not real world). Kelvin is for atoms.

And you might say (not write, but say) 3 October, 2024, but most normal people say October 3rd, 2024. So the 10/03/2024 (mm/dd/yyyy) system makes perfect sense. :whistling:

I am somewhat surprised (and pleased) that you are defending our weird system of weights and measures.

Hah! I remember being taught the metric system as the wave of the future in 1975!

Water freezes at 32 degrees and boils at 212? That makes sense?

or, stick with me here....

Water freezes at 0 and boils at 100.

Now, granted I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but acknowledging when something changes form as a 0 point and changes again at 100 makes a whole lot more sense than pulling a bunch of random numbers out of your jacksie.

Sorry I missed this one.

My bad, great point, happy July the 4th everyone!! :whistling:
Holidays ('merican style) shouldn't be addressed by the actual date. They should only be addressed with their official nickname, hence 4 of July/July the 4th is better known as "Independence Day". Other examples: Presidential Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas. And then, we have some real messy holidays that don't fall on a specific date, such Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving... So, to avoid any confusion simply refer to any and all holidays by their given name.

Good day in the San Gabes today with Mike and Steve. I needed a rematch with the climb up Fern and Brown mountain on the single speed after my initial outing gave me a beat down. Made it up to the first saddle without stopping today, and beat my previous PR by over a minute. The descent down Ken Burton was new dirt for me. Relentless, tight, loose, exposed switchbacks. Switchbacks are my nemesis, but I still managed to enjoy the experience. Killer views, and a really neat trail. Not one I'll feel the need to rush back to, but it needed to be experienced. The Gab finish, with a short detour to the falls was a blast. 13.9/2089.

We stopped caring sometime in 1776.

Despite that, I have been an F1 fan since I was a kid, so I am actually somewhat used to meters, kph and Celsius. It has only been in the last few years where the race announcers started (occasionally) converting things to American.

I do remember when I was in elementary school, the teachers told us we would be learning the metric system at some point, but they never got around to it.

100 degrees is just hot enough to consider taking it easy riding for the day! hehehe....or die with blood boiling, which would I prefer....
