Why I am leaving California

Leave your pensions at the door and don’t let it hit you in the ass.

My pension goes wherever I go :) And if I had to depend on any form of California government for my pension benefits - current or future - I'd be very worried.

But I guess the same can be said about Federal SS Benefits for all of us. The sad question is: even if you know you will never get 100% of your money back, will you at least get some of it back before the Ponzi scheme comes crashing down?

You worry to much. NOT! Spot on! LA can’t even protect us any more! Nobody wants to talk or hear about this though? Again, you got out by only minuets to spare.

Yea but we got the Lakers!

Bonsainut has officially left the building!! House closed last week, and we drove the Tesla to Charlotte via the south route (San Diego/Tucson/El Paso/Dallas/Jackson/Atlanta). Bikes should be here later this week or early next.

Wishing you all happy - and safe - trails. I'll miss my SoCal biking buds, and the great rides. Was sad thinking about the summer solstice ride this week... and how I never did get to ride Holy Jim / Trabuco again after the fire :(

We hope that you'll remain connected to us and not fade away. Really, really looking forward to reading your RRs and seeing pics from your new corner of America. At least you're bike is finally on it's way now.

Oh, you'll still check in every now and then... Glad the house sold. I know how stressful and crazy that is right now.

You have so many sports teams that they are starting to stack them up and play in the same stadiums :) However... my daughter has transferred schools and will be going to App State in the fall. Go Mountaineers!

App State draws bigger crowds than Chargers
They have this strange propensity for pulling off massive upsets against D1 teams as well. Hope your daughter enjoys her time there as much as I did mine, and that you guys do as well. If she needs some recommendations just let me know. I'm sure Boone hasn't changed much in 25 years, right? Maybe it has come full circle and Hootie is playing Thursday nights at The Klondike again. Regardless, congrats on the move.

Dude! Greg, this is the moment we've been waiting for since the thread started! BonsaiNut Does The East...Pisgah And Other Places You Can't Ride But He Can. Eat it up and be safe, my friend!

Holy Jim will rise again. We got one great run, and I'm happy for that!

It might be tough to stage another IMTB barbeque, but on a website there is no goodbye. Guys like @Cisco Roots, @singlespeedrider, and my own self have made clear that this group is not contained by region or state. It's held together by MTB desire. So...I await the first RR. :D:thumbsup:
