Who's Riding Where???

The wheazel and I will be mobbing Lloyd's Loop near Stampede Reservoir this weekend.

I keep threatening to drop off beers by Boca Reservoir on the way there, then happy hour at water's edge on the return. My mom and I saw a bald eagle over there a couple months ago – a first for her. Yep, that sounds like a plan.

Mtbmike says it's rideable. There's supposed to be a tandem joining us

Have you seen what @mtbMike says is rideable? :)

You doing Wildhorse Meadow loop up top!?

I've personally never done the Wildhorse Meadow loop so wouldn't know where it is. I never heard of it until the last time we did this same ride. I have friends that live in Big Bear who tell me a bunch of work was done on the Heart Bar section in June. I can deal with some downed trees and occasional sand. It can't be any more sand that we deal with on PCE :Roflmao @scan

The June timing coincides with the CrazyBear mission up there. I hope it’s melache! I’m looking forward to the RideReport. I looked at your profile; Wildhorse DH is in your wheelhouse.

Now those are two trails I would love to ride! Have fun out there.
Bones has a fantastic water bar type jump that will launch you nicely up near the top and a few smaller ones as you go down. But the trail is quite short and it's over too quickly. Dead Cow is fun and there is a few pucker spots along the way that you have to commit to with some degree of speed if you're gonna roll through but it leaves you out in the middle of nowhere when you reach the bottom, not near Cheseboro at all. Its a few mile neighborhood pedal to get back into the park.

So there were ZERO trees down on the Heart Bar section. It doesn't look like anybody has been riding it recently. Conditions overall were great on the Heart Bar section due to recent rains this week. 98% of the previous issues caused by last Winter's rains are all taken care of. However, there are some new issues caused by what must have been some torrential type rains recently but aside from one area in the fire road where it doesn't surprise you, it didn't cause any washouts that made it so that you needed to get off and walk your bike.

That’s good intel! Paul from Crazy Bear told me today it’s not in good shape :gotnothing:, but he was in Kernville and not Heart Bar. Recent rains are clutch.
