Who took advantage of Black Friday sales?

I didn't mean to spend any money today, but I spent $3k on myself. Badly needed clothes for work ($700), car maintenance and repair ($1400) and ski boots ($800).

I shouldn't have needed ski boots after dropping $750 three years ago, but I could never get them to stop making my feet numb - buckled, unbuckled, didn't matter. Several sessions with professional boot fitters too. And I know a thing or two about ski equipment. Alas, I gave up and bought something else.

I saved a whopping $13 on two new sets of grips. Trying out the SQLab Grip 711 Tech & Trail 2.0. I have snow fever at the moment, but have managed to restrain myself from buying a new set of bindings (Union Atlas) for my primary board. Hopefully I'll make it through the weekend. I'm feeling oddly restrained.

One of the local guys I occasionally ride with picked up a new bike with literally all the fruit!
Full AXS, XX1, Reverb, Rock Shox Lyric flight attendant and Superdeluxe Ultimate flight attendant, Crank Brothers Carbon rims on I9 Hydras. The only let down in spec is it only has G2 Ultimate's on 200mm rotors, probably deserves Codes.

Its more bike than he's ever going to need but for $5499 brand new why the hell not!

As of right now they still have XL and XXL left.

Hmmm I'm somewhere around XL and XXL...:sneaky:

That's a lot of bike and wizardry for the money. Basically half price!

Finally bought a new mattress, from Custom Comfort so locally manufactured.
:sleep::sleep::)

And also took advantage of a sale on Buttercups.

Ain't Friday, but Tasco mtb has 40% off site wide today. Cyber22 is the code.
https://www.tasco-mtb.com/

I don't see them in the search on the phone, but some cool weather bike pants
https://www.tasco-mtb.com/search?q=pants

Just bought a few goodies and saved a grip..... have a few of there items now, and they fit me great.
I love their gloves and socks but, unfortunately, they don't carry adult size socks anymore. Their largest size is 9-12 in men's.

I’m not sure on the state of the industry post Covid-19 shortage, but as a pure consumer I have been enjoying the slight dip in prices. So while I didn’t purchase anything on Black Friday the week before I ordered 3 Maxxis tires, and a couple of TIMBER! bells for rides when we aren’t on dedicated trails, and finally some push-on OURY grips.

Not much for me, didn't really see anything on sale that I wanted/needed. I was pretty busy the past week so didn't have a lot of time to look though. Was hoping to stock up on consumables, but I didn't see any deals.

I did go to buy a dash cam for my Jeep, found the exact same model I bought for my van was marked down $60. Then I looked at how much I paid for the same camera 6 months ago...and it was the same as the sale price...

Did a bit of shopping on Monday.....

I hate buying mtb shoes....but I did. Gonna go back to my roots and see how these hold up:
Sidi Trace 2

Then I got an email from Tasco with a couple of discount codes. Originally wasn't interested.....then started browsing.
The had a 25% off sale items....so it was time for new socks. Did 2 sets of the Mystery 3 Packs.....not bad for $8 a pair. Only downer was both 3 packs had the same designs. Oh, well. Then I started looking around more. I saw 40% off regular priced items. Didn't need any gloves. Already got socks. Didn't need any new shorts. But these were $50 off....so why not give them a try:

Tasco Scout Trail Pants. Figured they might be nice on some of those cold night rides. Made of the same material as the shorts. The jury is still out.

My wife has been asking me for Christmas present ideas, so I spoon fed her those pants and the code. I assume they'll find their way under the tree. I've yet to ride in anything other than shorts, but I've wanted pants on a couple of occasions.

I'm in the same boat....I'm fine in shorts. I have bib knickers for cold rides. I also have a pair of rain pants.

As for me... Several months ago I bought the USWE Airborne 3L pack with the "No Dancing Monkey" harness. This is the first pack I've owned that I actually look forward to wearing. In the past it was always, "Oh sh$t, I have to wear a pack today. I'd really rather pull my fingernails out with pliers." Osprey, Camelbak... hip packs... Never really loved any of them. The USWE is game changing.

But... The 3L pack is tiny. I can carry the bladder, a really scrunched up wind breaker, maybe a pair of gloves, and that's about it. The bladder has just enough room inside its compartment. I also have the add-on phone carrier that attaches to the straps, as well as the GoPro adapter for the chest. If I were ever crazy enough to sign up for a 100 mile bike race in the Utah desert, this is the pack that will be on my back. It is minimalist and I forget I'm wearing it. :whistling:

But... The 3L is still tiny, and there are a lot of rainy days in the Gabes lately, when I'd love to carry the rain gear and extra gloves, etc... After using the USWE, I can't bring myself to put on the old Camelbaks or the Osprey. So... I ordered the USWE Airborne 9L version at 50% off. It's on its way from Sweden as I type...

Airborne 3L with detachable 1L front pocket.

Hmmm, I like the look of this, and my trusty Osprey Hydra is getting a little long in the tooth. Tell me more about this 50% off. (edit: I suppose, as per the title of this thread, it was a now defunct Black Friday special).

This was a Black Friday deal, but... When I bought the 3L, I found it on Amazon for almost 50% off.

I bought the same pack 2 weeks ago, and it arrived the other day! $79ish shipped from Sweden. The main feature I wanted was 3 liters of water capacity. I’m a little bummed they didn’t include stickers with the product.

Hmmm... My first pack came with stickers. One is a really cool gorilla with the "no dancing monkey" text.
