What Are You Doing Differently?

Playing obscene amounts of XBox. Trying to keep my kids from killing each other. Pretty much minimal store/Costco runs as needed. Trying to contain a 3 year old through all this is probably the definition of hell. I think we might need to just tie him to a tread mill for a few hours.

Make sure the treadmill is hooked up to a generator. Free electrons FTW!!!!

In the "corona" environment this is almost a zombie thread, but wonder if anyone is like me and hasn't used cash for more than two months? This is especially unusual since I had always used it (except for online purchases, obviously).
Also, what "lost" once-prevalent entities might make a comeback and would you welcome them? For me, I'd love to "see" drive-in theaters again.

I've already read a few articles saying there are drive-ins that ridiculously busy. I'd love to go to one, but I think the closest one to me is out in Riverside somewhere.

I haven't been a big user of cash since the debit card lifestyle took over years ago... Now I can pay with my watch? I'm good with that.

Drive ins? I'd guess that's not the way we're already headed. One of the by-products of this pandemic is breaking the stranglehold that movie theaters had on distribution restrictions. They have lost all of their leverage, as the movie studios move to streaming- even for first run movies. That was unthinkable a year ago.

Surprisingly, I think the lack of gym time due to coronavirus has had a profound POSITIVE effect on my health. I've had chronic neck pain for years, that had crescendoed to borderline debilitating over the last year, and in particular the top half of this year. I also have an underlying condition that amplifies inflammation, so I'd more or less attributed the pain to that. But after taking weight training out of the equation (save for some light kettlebell training), and adding in a healthy dose of yoga, my neck pain and loss of range of motion is all but gone. I'd say an 80% improvement, easily. There are some other variables as well. Very little driving, which typically aggravates my neck a lot (in normal times I drive about 30K miles a year), as well as peptide injections that I've been doing to speed up knee recovery, but either way I really feel like a new person.

Your Yoga experience mimics mine.

I've been kind of slacking on the Yoga lately due to more Mtb riding. But the positive effects I experienced for the last couple years made me a believer. Pain and reduced range of motion I've had for many years is virtually eliminated. This is most pronounced on the healing of my torn rotator cuff.

Now I'm going to schedule some yoga into this afternoon. ....

I haven't touched cash since the lockdown started. It's just worked out that way, not really a conscious decision.

1 insanity workout videos like it’s 2009 again
2 driving my truck every other day to exercise the fluids
3 ride my bike around the block so it stays moving
4 truck cleaning and apartment cleaning
5 watching too much old school tv - friends, Seinfeld, just shoot me, etc

I'm not afraid of touching my cash; it should be sterile by now; just that food deliveries, take out etc are CC, and when I get gas would rather swipe the card than go into the store to pay the cashier with bills. As long as this keeps up, I'll be living in a cashless society.

I took out some cash in early Feb when I started self quarantine. I was due to fly in a germ filled tube for 7 hours and spend 5 hours in a crowded LAX and Atlanta. I kind of revolted and left work when two people were sick, one finally stayed home that morning, and the other was dry coughing near me. By 8:00 am I took off sick and went to my doctor to get a note to exempt me from flying. By the end of the week you needed a VP signature to fly, the next day I went in after hours, got my computer and started working from home. I still have most of the travel cash, as I am self quarantined. I have only used two tanks of gas. So I am screwing Newsome and his $18 per tank tax carbon fee. His sales tax income must really suck too.
Happy trails in the empty open space.
