2. ADDING A SHORTER COURSE TO THE SUN DANCE EVENT?

We were asked if we could add a shorter “beginner" course to the Sun Dance Event. To this end, we were thinking of having a shorter course that would go up Black Star then turn left (north) on the South Main Divide to Sierra Peak and back. We are not sure what the total milage would be but if the feedback we get is positive about adding this “shorter” course to the Sun Dance event we will provide accurate course information. Classes ages would depend on participation.

We could also set this up as a poker run instead of a competitive event.

Let us know if this shorter course/poker run interests you.

So, they kinda gotta work on their locations and timing...

We will have two cutoff times similar to the Counting Coup for the pro and intermediate course:

1. 10:00 a.m. - at the Aid Station at the bottom of the Silverado Trail and Maple Spring Road

2. 12:00 a.m. - at the Aid Station at the intersection of Maples Springs Road and the South Main Divide Road.

Nope....if it takes you 4 hrs to get to bottom of Motorway, then you won’t make the 12:00 cutoff at 4 Corners.

You have his email...feel free to correct him.

It's the same 4 and 6 hour cutoff that we had for VQ and CC... (5:30-9:30 for aid station 1 at MW, and 11:30 for aid station 2 at Four Corners). We can sleep in an extra half hour for this one. :)

I will most likely sign up. The course isn't as fun as VQ, but it will still be fun in its own painful way.

Edit: The thing that jumps out at me is the lack of a third cutoff. Due to logistics, most likely... That is a long painful stretch from Four Corners to Black Star.

He’s pointing out it says SOuTH MD. I’d imagine that 95% of the riders out there don’t even know there is an extension to Main Divide.

So... Am I the first one on here to sign up? Intermediate class... Unlike VQ, there was no single speed sub class. And no Clyde class? I do better with like sized people statistically. :Roflmao

That stretch of Main Divide from Four Corners back to Black Star could be murder on the single speed. I'm going to have to think about bike setup for this one.

Gears? Single speed with a granny cog? Comfortable walking shoes?
