Uh ...Doc? Is that X-Ray SUPPOSED to look like that?

All that "fun" happened while going 0 mph

Hi, can you explain what's in that pic? Am I seeing 2 clean breaks and 1 jagged break in the palm? How does that happen? Technical name: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metacarpal?

WOW  I didn't know we had so many people in the plate and screws club. Did the doctor give you guys X-ray copies or did you take pictures with your cell? Anyhow, I don't have any good pics of my hardware. I trashed my feet snow skiing Feb 11 2000. Both heels, Calcaneous bones crushed into like 100 pieces. I was going large on a ski jump that I had not hit before (stupid) and I missed any landing transition hitting flat hardpack from altitude. So I got a cup / plate thing and 11 screws in the right foot and then 3 in the left. The left also had long pins coming from back of the heel which they pulled out. Wish I had pictures, it looks kinda crazy.

No running or jumping for me. feet still hurt every day. but at least I can still ride bikes! :D

Cell Phone pics from the computer screen...

However, my ortho did give me a print out of the x-rays that were taken while he was working on my ankle.

Riding downhill on a suburban horse trail that I'd ridden many times before. I don't remember anything from the crash because in addition to the broken scapula, I got a concussion and lost about 6 hours of memories.

My best guess is that a rabbit ran out in front of me and I grabbed two handfuls of brakes ( or it could have been space aliens )

Wow I'm sorry to see that you guys had all these injuries. The broken bones with screws in the x-ray pics are disturbing. More disturbing is you keep and show these pics.

A guy at the gym recommended to me to bulk up muscle in case I crash it won't be as bad. Not sure if that really helps or not but you will add more weight on the climbs. But I'm still waiting for my rotator cuff injury to fully heal from my 2nd to last crash before I start lifting again. I went from 300 lbs wide chest press (machine) to maybe 25 lbs. What a waste of a year of lifting.
