Tour De Santa Ana's

Skinsuit is no more... Bulldozed during the recent fires to make a fire break.

Check out Google Earth. If you follow Eagle all the way to the bottom, you hit private property. There is a turnoff to the left about 1/2 mile before the end that exits legally. You can zoom in and see it on this ride...

Huh, I have done that. But it was a long time ago, before I was even using a dropper post. I will have to go ride it again.

Coal Canyon is also a worthy opponent to get you to Sierra Peak and then over to Beeks.
Maybe I'll make it a home-CC-Eagle-home loop!

A much shorter version would be Harding to Motorway, but then it's roadie back to the car... 5 miles of road downhill (fast) to get out of Silverado canyon, and then another 4-5 with some uphill to get back to Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary at the base of Harding.

Turn left at the bottom of Motorway instead of right. It's only, what, 5.5 miles and 2,600 feet from MW to 4C via MS? Then you're at the top of Harding and it's a cruise down the hill.

That's what I'm planning! Only I have it as like 2650 feet. If I jump up in the air really high at 4C :)

Once I get to 4C I plan on donning my ninja mask and Linked Cycling jersey and bombing Harding at full speed - hikers be damned!

You know we're going to try and talk you into dropping Eagle. :whistling:

I thought about it, but then I would have to bail at B* and roadie back to Tucker. That seems a little anti-climactic for the ride. Instead the Motorway/Maple Springs saddle will provide plenty of challenge for me, while still leaving me at my car without 10 roadie miles in between. Something like:

Or you could drop down Eagle and taste some new dirt. You have gears, the roadie miles aren’t that bad. It’ll take about 20 mins.

I am trying to get a lock down on my schedule. I think I have more time than previously thought.

I might start from maple 30 minutes after you guys, meet at 4c and drop eagle but then climb back out and down motorway. I can do maple to motorway in under 2:15 so I should have enough time to add eagle and be home by noon.

By that time you might be a little tired and I might be able to keep up.:devilish: Plus I get to sleep in. Perfect! Might even bring the SS (cough, double speed) if I can find some descent 26" tires. Might have to put my DH tires on.

@Grego - since I refuse to get up early enough to hit the start point at 6 am, what time are you planning to head out and from where? I may be able to join.

Probably heading out from the Treefarm around 10:15. That's a comfy 1:45 to get to Beeks. That will give me plenty of time in case I break a chain or something. If I get to Beeks too early I might go to Sierra or just continue up MD. J's crew will catch up regardless.

Heads up! Very little parking at tree farm, many cubic yards of dirt placed where we normally park.

I had thought of doing this ride ( for bearly a nanosecond) but tire a sidewall today, so have to bail. Have fun with/o me.
