The Stoking the Fire Thread

None of my kids stuck with bikes... i took my oldest up in CHSP about 14 years ago... rode up Telegraph almost to 4 corners. he was mad at me because it was all uphill. told him you gotta earn your downs... he didn't like that response. hasn't rode bikes with me since.

recently he asked if i want to head up to Snow Summit bike park for a day trip... I say absolutely!! then the fires took hold and the mountains are closed... but at least that's another start. hopefully some stoke will happen.

at least i taught them all how to ride dirt bikes! my oldest does have a street bike... we get to ride together sometimes.

Clever work Redman.

I think I just got lucky with Vince. Ever since he could pedal, he's been enthused. Of course new bike parts, bikes, gear and the goons we constantly rode with had something to do with it also I'm sure.
What's his take on joining this site? Are we too old? I can eaaaasily become a teenager! It's harder to remain an adult. Tell him if i ever see him on the street with his friends, I'm gonna approach the group and act like I'm a cool kid and give him a noogie!

This is an area where I have failed miserably.

I think I have you beat. I taught my daughter to ride in our local park, and then as a "graduation present" I took her on a ride on Aliso Creek trail. Paved trail, nothing technical, I thought she would be fine.
